So, I know we just did "I dislike," but I was watching TV last night and had a huge sudden disconnect with the wedding shows. So, I'd never seen a full episode of My Fair Wedding until this week, I think I'd always seen the last half of them or something. I watched a marathon, and here's what I don't get: He comes in 3 weeks before the wedding and changes everything, sometimes even the city or state (I realize things in New England are closer together, but still). I know the brides get their "dream" wedding, but 3 weeks beforehand I hop to have it all mapped out, I'd hate to put that kind of inconvenience on my family and friends who were coming. Also, does he or the production company pay for the lost deposits and such or reimburse for the dress or the centerpiece stuff they already bought and paid for? I can't see FI being totally thrilled that even though we had this ridiculous-over-the-top wedding that we were still paying the places we originally booked.
I was reminded of this watching an episode of How Do I Look? where the nominee was a bride, and they asked her and her FI that if money was no object, when would they have gotten married, and they said "yesterday," so the host girl said that the show was marrying them "tomorrow." I know that productions can pull out a lot, but, honestly, how would you get your people there, let along get your dress to actually fit you, plus if there were other things you needed to do before the wedding. I am probably over-thinking this, but it seems just so ridiculous.
