Follow up from our tricare discussion

This is a follow up from cornflakes post about what should she know now that she'll be a military wife. I has to get blood work done a month ago. Instead of filling out the form that states my information and insurance, the lady just took my military ID and entered everything herself. I told her to put H's social as my insurance #. She didn't listen. I got two bills in the mail totally $2,000 because tricare didn't find my benefits number as a member. I just had to call (twice in 2 weeks) the diagnostic place to give them my information. I was on hold both times for 30 minutes and now the situation won't be resolved for another 4-6 weeks. S I have this shiit hanging over my head for about 2 months. My advice? Make sure people understand you are on your husbands insurance. If they don't let you fill out the form themselves, don't just hand over your military ID. The ID doesn't look like normal insurance cards and will confuse someone if they don't have experience with tricare. Also... Learn your husbands social. I'm an idiot and just kept calling H to ask before I realized everytime I go to a doctor or get an Rx I will have to know it. Much easier now that I learned it. :-)

Re: Follow up from our tricare discussion

  • Yeha lrh, I recently added Tricare to my scripts at CVS and they took his social, along with other info so I'd definitely check on that!
