I posted this on my local board for local recommendations, but you ladies often have great ideas, so here goes...
We're looking at booking transportation for guests next - we are expecting to have approximately 150 guests. I don't know how many will take advantage of the transportation, but we're offering it from the two hotels where we have room blocks. It's approximately 1 mile between the two hotels, and 3.5 miles to the ceremony/reception (both at the same place).
My Mom is really bawking at the idea of a school bus, but I do want to keep costs low as FFIL is paying and he's on a limited budget (we might end up telling him it's $X and then pulling some money from the rest of the wedding budget to fudge the difference if necessary). However, I also don't want to have a delay because people are waiting for the shuttle to return since it would be overpacked.
- How many people took advantage of the guest transportation at your weddings?
- Did you have one vehicle or two? How many people per vehicle?
- How early before the ceremony did guests start taking the shuttle?
- How did you communicate to guests when and where the shuttle would be running?
- Did you have the shuttle running all night? If not, what time did you have them start running return trips?
