If we capitalize Marines, and Navy, and Army, and Air Force, and Coast Guard.... we might as well capitalize Lurkers!!!

[QUOTE]So I'm an air force fiancée (I have bumper stickers all over my car!!) and my fiance is currently deployed.  I'm majoring in philosophy at Auburn University! My FI has been gone for a little over 4 months and it's just been so hard on me!! I cry all the time, and I worry a lot that he's cheating on me.  I think that because I was so worried about him cheating that I just got caught up and I found myself sleeping with my TA.  I can't tell my FI because I mean.. my parents have already put a lot of money down for our wedding, so obviously I want to get married, but I'm having a hard time breaking things off with the TA. I mean if my fiance chose to leave me to go play around for 9 months, why shouldn't I have fun too!? I can't wait to be a military spouse!! We've already decided (well.. I decided!) that I'm going to be a stay-at-home wife and he doesn't want kids any time soon, but I'm not on any kind of BC so fingers crossed ladies!! I'm really wanting a full military wedding with an Arch and everything!! I'm getting married in a Ball Gown outside on a lawn of this big ole southern mansion!! I'm mostly super glad that my fiance has a job that will support me because I love to shop but I've never actually had a real job! haha (that's what daddy's are for! )Any advice or tips on incorporating our service into my wedding?!

  • You know what this sounds like? It sounds like when an ex who was cheated on gets on their former SO's Facebook account. It'll be something like " Laura B (on her account).: I'm a big huge whoor who cheated when my awesome man Brian was away. I suck so much, I'm such a sloot." Which will be followed by a million comments and then something like: "Guess I shouldn't cheat on people who have my password." Only there will be more misspelling. And words that L0oK LiKE ThIS.

This has never happened on my FB feed, but I've seen in on some of those internet fail sites. I am getting a distinct impression that this troll is male. And a guy who thinks things like this about women, and that this is how all women who are on a wedding site must behave, particularly women who are in relationships with service members, maybe a guy who got screwed over and has a lot of free time. That's my two cents.

  • TK cheating! Heck yes!

  • Also, I don't believe that cheating makes one a completely horrible person. I think this OP were real, is a horrible person. It's about so much more than the cheating.

My Mom cheated on my Dad, and while that was the straw that broke the camel's back, their divorce was a loooong time coming. She's now married to the man she cheated with, they've been together pretty much since my parent's divorce (over 15 years). She never pushed him on us as another parent and they didn't marry until my sister graduated high school. She is so much happier. My Dad is so much happier and better off. Once tempers cooled, they've maintained an admirable co-parenting relationship. Do I wish they'd talked it out or walked it out before it came to cheating? Of course. But, I don't think that means my Mom is a horrible person.

I cheated on a boyfriend in college. I would say I was young and dumb and equated attention from boys with love because I never really had a dating life or lots of interested guys in high school, but those are all excuses. I was really really stupid, and did something just because I was so caught up in myself. It caused drama in my drama-filled and drama-sustaining group of friends (seriously, college had some very soap opera moments for me). Afterwards I took a look at myself and my choices, grew up, and got some therapy. I've continued on to have several meaningful relationships, none of which I cheated during, most of which ended well, and one of which I hope lasts the rest of my life. It  can be done, but you have to take responsibility.

Because you don't think that there are Lurkers who have cheated?? I saw a lot of girls cheating when my h was deployed so it wouldn't surprise me. Not any of the girls who post regularly. And I'm knotting from my phone so it would be a lot of effort for me to create a new sn and type that whole big paragraph and not have any typos or auto corrects.

I think it has to be laughed at. Otherwise it's just offensive to those of us in working military relationships. <div>

I think a lot of people cheat. Do I think any of the regs. here cheat on their H or FI? nope. But then again it's the internet any one of us could be a 80 year old man. Ya never know. I'm in the business of asking questions so I did.

Personally, it makes no difference to me if this board is active or not.  You are 150% right that it's pointless to get mad/upset about things that are made up.

No I don't think any of the regs do either, that's why when op said it I ran with it.

  • I think it's a dude. Something about the way it's written just smells funny, for lack of a better term. It's just so very stereotypical. And I've lurked on CC, so I've seen some punctuation and grammar multi-car pile-ups (exclamation points and ellipses and asterisks, oh my!), but this seems almost too perfect. Too practiced. Like someone actively trying to ape a flammable poster. As far as the guy part, it just seems like a revenge post, or someone trying to be a ridiculous girl.

And something about the way the OP talks about "herself" just seems too self-aware, like someone is making up a "Daddy's girl" character.

I'd kind of like for OP to come back and flesh out the story.
    image
  • And that's why I can't knot from y phone it posts when I'm not done. I had free time today so this allowed me to have fun and be sarcastic. Thats why it doesn't bother me. All my clients canceling leaves empty space in my schedule. And yes I am a real person lol. Cal has even met me :)
