Choosing Colors, Coordinating with Uniforms?

So!

The groomsmen will be in Army, Navy and Marine Corps uniforms, with a couple civilians in tuxes thrown in the mix. Does anyone have some safe color ideas that won't clash too much with uniforms or should I not even consider their uniforms when picking since they hit just about all the services!?

Any color basically works.  I would not go matchy matchy with the uniforms.  My H is in the Army and he wore his dress blues and the girls wore clover (a light green).

Yes, definitely do your own thing!  Uniforms are meant to go with anything, and since you'll have a whole bunch of different uniforms, it would be pointless to try.  The further you go from TRYING to match, the more likely it will look good.

May I suggest a non-uniform color, like pink or raspberry or purple or a light blue?  With a neutral, like cream or gold or beige or silver?  I'd avoid navy blue, black, brown since I personally don't think it would look as good with the multiple uniforms.  Then again, I've seen all those colors in military weddings and they looked awesome, I just think they're harder to pull off!

I am loving this peachy/coral/pinkish color on J. Crew. I might lean towards that. :D No clue where to go from there, but at least it is a start! Plus I have a TOOOONNNNN of time since he has yet to propose. Hahahahhaha.

Oooh that sounds pretty!  I always like cream as a neutral color for weddings, but it all depends on the mood you want to set.

Thanks! I want this to be a pretty traditional and classy affair, can that count as a mood? No loud colors. I love the look of off-white/ivory roses...I think that would go great with the creamy/peach/pink/coral color.

This is fun! Especially when there is no pressure to get this all done. :D

Classy is definitely a mood.  I'm going for classy/elegant/antique myself, with some peach thrown in!  Check out my planning bio to see some images (and my Pinterest page has far more - are you on Pinterest?  If not, PM me your email and I'll invite you - it's awesome!)

Coral or peach would look great and totally go with what you are going for. My fiance is in the Air Force but he is the only one that will be in uniform in the wedding party so we are doing canary yellow and navy blue

I have the same dilema! My wedding is oct.15th, the groomsmen are from every branch of the military, plus my civilian brother.  We are doing navy blue bridesmaids dresses.  The colors are navy and gold and looks very sharp!

Gold also looks great with the coral/peach theme. It really dresses it up, goes with the uniforms, and makes it even more elegant!
