Cupcakes in a jar

My husband is deployed and I wanted to try cupcakes in a jar.. has anyone tried or done these before? I am going for something like the ones here..

    I think there was a post earlier of someone doing it. Hopefully they will chime in. I've never done it but think it looks cute!

    my tip: bubble wrap will be your new best friend! haha... I haven't done cupcake in a jar (fi hates frosting.. I know.. wtf... lol) but the cake in the jar turns out incredible. :]

    oooh thanks I had seen the earlier post.. will check it out. Deff going to pick up some bubble wrap too today!! ;)

    I've done cakes in a jar. I always put the frosting on the side so FI can use as much or as little as he wants. I don't know how well it would travel with the frosting inside the jar with the cake.

    not sure if the icing will hold! don't use a cream based icing like cream cheese frosting to avoid food poisoning. It has to be kept cold because of the cheese and butter. butter cream is fine to sit out though!
