Reception Venue Ideas For A Large Wedding

Hi everyone!I am trying to find a venue for our reception for about 250-300 guests, that is not too expensive. I have read some previous posts, but the suggestions given seem to be for smaller weddings, so I would appreciate some input for a larger guest list. I have called to some hotels, but they seem a little pricey, and we're trying to stay on budget, but I am not sure of many other venues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!Thanks!

Not sure where in NM you are at, but the Farm and Ranch Museum in Las Cruces can hold up to 400, and in Albuquerque, Prarie Star has some larger ballrooms too.

Hi, our wedding is smaller (about 150 guests) but some of the places we looked at were the Hispanic Cultural Center, a lot of the golf courses, country clubs, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, and even the UNM Student Union Building (which was sort of a bargain and they do their own catering -  but some people may not enjoy walking around campus).  There's also the Balloon Museum at Balloon Fiesta Park, the Albuquerque Museum, and the NM Art Museum.  Maybe a banquet room at a church?  We will probably end up at the Hilton, which could be pricey for a larger wedding.  We also looked at the DoubleTree, The Sheraton Uptown and the Albuquerque Grand Hotel by the airport.  I was going to suggest a park but I noticed your date is in August - would probably be too hot for that.  Hope some of that helps.

We had our reception at the Abq. convention center.  I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.
