New Mexico

favorite new mexico salsas and/or albuquerque restaurants!

hi! again!

Thank you to everyone who gave me great ideas about the out of town guest welcome bags! I love the ideas about the local mini-wines and pinon nuts and salsa!

I'm wondering if you could tell me what your favorite new mexico salsas and or/restaurants are so I can add them to the baskets! Or your favorite thing to do in Albuquerque!

Thank you! :)

For salsa, I would say Sadie's is the best, at least its my favorite (it is a little hot though).  As for things to do a stroll through Old Town might be fun, but it sort of depends on the weather since, its outdoors.  Good luck!

Favorite NM restaurants would be Sadies (salsa too) and El Pinto (I'm bias though because we're getting married there).  As for things to do, Old Town is lovely, maybe the Tram, we also have a nice Botanical Garden.  Depending on when your wedding is, maybe information on the Isotopes (good fun for all ages).  Chama River Brewery is also nice, and they offer brewery tours.

    Good luck!!!

I love Sadies' salsa! Cervantes has great salsa and great food. If you're looking for salsa that isn't too hot and has a different flavor, try Los Cuates. I personally am not a fan of El Pinto's food or salsa but the restaurant location is beautiful and always seems to be a hit with out-of-town folks.

Sadies Salsa is definitely the best!! Your post reminded me of when I tried green chile wine... Not the best, but very New Mexican! You could also put in chocolates or candies that contain chile.. Good Luck!!

I'll agree with Sadie's Salsa and Chama River Brewery as well! My family also loves Papa Nacho's Mexican Restaurant on Louisiana between Paseo del Norte and San Antonio. It's nothing fancy, but it's delicious!

I think a fun day visiting in NM would be to take the Rail Runner to Santa Fe, get off at the depot in the Thomasita's parking lot, eat there (the salsa is one of my favorites, and the food is amazing) and then walk around the plaza and shop. Then you could do dinner at Geronimo's, the Bull Ring or La Casa Sena, and head back! Gosh, this post is making me want to do this right now! Hope this helps and good luck!

Anything containing green chili (better yet ROASTED green chilie) is always a hit. Mexican candies are also very unique and delicious, try Pros Market.

I really like El Pinto salsa and you can pick it up anywhere, like at our grocery stores!
