a great wedding on a budget - looking for photo and catering vendor recommendations

Hi there,

I live in Massachusetts but am getting married in Vermont this July - we just got engaged so everything is moving fast!

Does anyone have recommendations for a great but inexpensive wedding photographer?

Also catering recommendations, I have contact Catering by Dale, Maple Street Catering and Occasions - haven't heard from Dale and Occasions seemed a bit high.

Thanks!

We used Noel's Catering out of Rutland.  I have reviews in my married bio, page me on the July 09 board if you want details about the billing issues but I think they could be avoided if you don't do rentals through them.  They were quite reasonable, very flexible with the menu, and the food was really good!
We're currently on a 15 month trip around the world!

I met with Dale from Catering by Dale. She was an extremely professional woman with a great ability to come up with a menu "on the spot". I chose not to go with her for two reasons: price and location (she's in Burlington, I'm getting married in St. Johnsbury on the other side of VT). I still have my menu with prices that Dale came up with. If you would like me to email it to you, post your email address and I will send it to you.

Where are you getting married in VT? I am using a husband/wife DJ/photographer couple, but again they are from the eastern side of the state. I could give you their info if you'd like. Not sure of the area they cover.

    Good luck with things!

I think that I am going to be using Maple Street.  Occasions was WAY too expensive, even when I told them what my budget was they came back with a quote that was $4000.00 higher that I could afford. Maple St has been SUPER helpful so far, they even gave me hints on how to save money if I chose to go with them. I am just waiting to hear back with the final quote including all the rentals that I would need.

For catering, I would recommend Let's Pretend.  Liane and Daniel are super friendly, talented, and resourceful!
