Theme/Vendors

I thought I would just combine a couple of things here :)

(1) I am having a hard time coming up with a theme for the wedding...What I mean is a theme so my decorations flow together.  I am sort of all over the map when it comes to how I want to decorate the room where the food and cake will be held and the tables.  I will be getting married at the Ritter Park Rose Garden next June so i do not want to over do anything.  I am open for any suggestions :)

(2)  I am still trying to find a catering company...does anyone have good suggestions?  I think we are going to stick to finger foods...nothing to heavy.  We want to stick to a reasonable budget...I am not really wanting to spend $20.00 a plate if you know what I mean!  Anyway thanks for all the help!

I'm having an outside wedding (October in Charleston) and a big reason I decided to do that was so I wouldn't have to spend a ton of money on decorations. The rose garden is beautiful, so I don't think you'd have to do any decorating outside. Depending on where you have your reception, you could pretty much do anything. There are a ton of colors that look good with pink/red that would match the roses at the ceremony. You could pretty much do whatever. Maybe like a navy blue or some other bold color to offset the soft colors of the flowers? Just a suggestion.

As for catering, I really don't know about that. The good thing about Huntington is that Ohio and Kentucky are so close. Another cost-cutting thing I did was to cut out the catering altogether. The ladies from my church are cooking and serving the food. If you have access to something like that, you could do that and it would definitely not cost $20 a person.

    Hope that helps Laughing
