Re: questions about huntington please....

  • Best bakery-paula vega (her cupcakes are the best)
    best restaurant-huntington prime

  • Hmm . . . that's tough to say without knowing what kind of style you're looking for. Can you give us some details?
  • I lived in Huntington all my life, until 3 years ago, when I moved to Cincinnati.

My son was married in the Ritter Park Rose Garden with reception at the garden house.  The price was unbeatable, the roses were in bloom so there was no floral cost (other than bouquets, etc), and the backdrop was beautiful for photos.  The park's stone arches, water fountain, and trickling creek was the perfect ambiance for a relaxing afternoon affair.  While the garden house (I think it's called Room with a View) is small, if the weather is right, the affair can flow from inside to outside seamlessly.   For rates, dates and other info, contact the Greater Huntington Parks Board.

By far, the best bakery in town is Torlone's!  The Holiday Inn downtown has Ohio river views and is connected by a parking garage to Pullman Square for shopping and dining options.  The Radisson Hotel is across the street from Pullman, and they have a tasty menu with several options for reception rooms.  Check out Spurlock's for flowers.

Huntington is a great town........do I sound like an ad, or what?!  Hope this info is helpful, and GOOD LUCK!

  • The rose garden is amazing. I really wanted to get married there but it just didn't work out. You definitely need some time to book ahead. I agree with Huntington Prime as far as restaruants goes. It's delicious and apparently they have a new top floor for private parties that's supposed to be really nice, though I haven't seen it.
