K so our color is dark purple. The flowers are going to be a mix of magenta, orange, dark orange, and yellow orchids, with a few bead stems, a peacock feather, and a purple butterfly (click!). We're going for a purple theme with bits of hawaiian motif.
To spice it up, I have some design ideas to bring this color scheme together:
- each plate will have a stamped hawaiian post card on it with the request that each guest write us a note, advice, or a prayer and drop it in the mail the next day
- The cake will have a few matching orchids on it.
- The table cards are hole-punched with a hawaiian decor and will have a purple background.
- the table will have white cloths/settings, and the centerpieces are going to be the orchid flower arrangement in clear purple mason jars. The table name cards will be next to it. So the only color on the table will be the flowers, the table name cards, and the postcards.
My question... do you think using wine corks for the table card holders and names of our favorite wineries as table names will distract too much from the hawaiian motif? Is it possible to call it a wine-hawaiian themed wedding or is that too much? I wish I had pictures... I think I will take some tonight.
