Hair Help!

Ok girls...I need some serious help in finding photos to take when I have my hair done for the wedding.  It's SO hard to find any pictures of brides with shorter hair - mine is probably considered 'medium' and just hits my shoulders.

I was planning on just attempting to do my own hair since we're having such a quiet, simple wedding but a co-worker of mine has said she wants me to get it done that day (her wedding gift to me - yay!) because her D-I-L owns a shop in town.

So...if your bored, find me some inspiration!

I'd like to have half up.  Curls are okay - just not tight kinky-like curls.

Oh, and I have a fat face...FYI.  LOL

Thanks for saying that, but unfortunately it's true ;)

And I say that because that's why I want half up - it seems like if all my hair is pulled back my face looks way fatter.

Since I haven't been on here for a while and I've already taken the time to make a new post,  I thought I'd better give an update...

#1  I feel back in love with my dress last week.  I had gotten to the point where I was ready to just sell it and wear a casual dress.  My boss talked me into at least putting it on and once I did - I was back in love (just like the day I bought it Jeana - I totally didn't want to take it off again LOL).  So, we went and dropped it off to get it altered and they promised they'd have it done in time.

#2  I've decided I'm wearing Converse high-tops under my dress.

#3  I have found witnesses to be at the ceremony (phew!) and one of them is a great photographer - bonus!

#4  We're going to meet with the JOP tomorrow after work so I can finally see the garden we're getting married in.

....I'm sure I'll think of more later.

Loose curls works for me.  As long as my hair holds up - it's straight as a board.

Hmm..I kinda like that hetshup.  I like that it's on the casual side... I shall be saving this one as well.

Hetshup!  I just looked at your bio (it's been a while) and I have to say that I absolutely love your reception site!  Totally rawks.

A good friend of mine wore converse to her wedding this past February...one shoe was bright pink, the other was bright orange and she had their initials and the date put on them - they were perfect for her.

The one Hetshup posted is similar to styles I've been looking at for me...something pulled back at the sides into a comb or something at the back (I get headaches, so I don't want something that will pull my hair tight) and the loose curls...the loose curls style would really look good on you.

Can't wait to see what you pick.

Ah, I didn't even think about the fact that I can't have anything pulling tight on my head - I'd hate to come down with a migraine my wedding day because of my hair!

You could have your stylist put in temporary extensions if you really want longer hair. They are a little pricey though

Jeter, you must be getting so excited! I'm glad you fell back in love with your dress and that you are going to rock those converse shoes! You will look fabulous. I don't know if you found a hair style yet but this was mine from last time:

I know it was just bobby pins and nothing that hurt too badly or was overly fancy in my opinion. I'm horrible with hairstyles but I hope you find one you like!

Will - Ah, no I don't believe I'm the type for extensions... Not saying there is something wrong with them...but I think FI would be highly confused if I all of a sudden had long hair and I spent that sort of $$ on it.

    nottheonlydream - Yes, I'm extremely excited!  I can't believe it's almost here.

cal- Love that hair style....I'm not a huge fan of having flowers in my hair - I just don't think I'm the type that can pull that off..

    Thanks for the help girls!

Yeah, I don't like the flowers either, but I like the example of having hair that is pulled back softly rather than dramatically.

Like this!  I can totally see this on you (or at least what I think you look like based on your tiny thumbnail pic)

    Edit:  Or this!

Jeter, I think if you don't pull your hair too tight or use anything heavy, you won't get a headache. Use bobby pins or cute combs or clips.

If you're okay taking aspirin, my stylist has said to take some when having an updo to prevent a headache.

Good thinkin' leia - I'm sure I'll have to be proactive in that approach.

I think my hair is about the same length... I'm not sure if this is at all what you're thinking but I had such a hard time finding relevant pictures I realized I might as well just share my own!  The guy who did it styles hair for horse shows and, just as I would expect, he used enough spray and gel to keep my hair in place the whole breezy day!  Less product would = looser curls, which I like a bit better aesthetically.
