You guys should totally e-mail Joe Schubach and tell him you'd get blues. I've heard conflicting things about whether or not you can get them from him. I've heard you can, but then I read on the jewelry forums that someone tried and was denied because there wasn't enough interest to justify doing a batch or something.

Speaking of DB, there was a round blue in a bezel for a very very for short time. I can't remember who snagged it up, but it was gone the same day it was listed. I was gonna buy it. Cry

And that marquise one, I've been drooling over that one for like a YEAR now. She keeps relisting it and taking it down and relisting it. It's killing me. Have you seen all the rings Joyce listed? They're GORGEOUS, especially her yellow square moissy halo and her replica Diana ring. I wish I had expendable income.

I might be looking into a new project for a right hand ring. A cushion cut cornflower blue sapphire in a Tiffany Legacy halo repro. Kinda like this:

I also came across these beauties while looking for that picture...

    And then in platinum

And for all you rose gold lovers out there

    And of course, the unobtainable

    And then the WTF?

Regardless of how pretty these are, I will NEVER pay Tiffany's pricing, except for maybe some of their silver pieces that aren't ridiculously priced. I'll just get a plain band and get it engraved myself, kthx.

I would definitely email Joe, but I don't have it in my budget for a new piece of jewelry right now.  I love the first ring you posted.  Something like that would have been my dream engagement ring.  I also want to buy a blue lab diamond from d.nea, but, again, there's no affording it anytime soon.

Ugh, I know what you mean. I drool over the Takara ones all the time.

I'm hoping the project won't be more than $1500. The Tiffany repro is pretty popular so I can probably find it already cast, and then the sapphire I'm gonna get a lab grown one from BTD.
In Response to Re: Diamond Alternatives :  Yeah, one of the owners (either Mike C or his wife) posted in the betterthandiamond forums that they're not even sure if they're going to make any blue ones again.  This gives me the sads. Posted by Elle1036
This makes me sad too! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cry.gif" border="0" alt="Cry" title="Cry" />

Here are the rings I was talking about earlier:
    Yellow moissy and diamond ring

Amethyst and tsavorite ring (I love it, but I personally wouldn't actually wear it)

And then her oh so lovely Diana ring, with a natural sapphire center and 1ctw of diamonds. I just LOVE this ring.

I still can't believe she's parting with all of these (and others too!). She did it for a paraiba tourmaline ring, which is actually a very beautiful bright stone.

I check out Takara's website on a regular basis, too.  I keep wondering if I should have just gotten a yellow moissanite instead of a clear one.  And then I see amazing sapphire rings like schiano's, and think I should have done that instead.  I'm probably eventually going to have like 5 different engagement rings that I alternate between.

My e-ring is actually the Tiffany Legacy repro from moissaniteco.com so of course I love the ring that you posted.

Elle I don't have the money for new jewelry right now either with the wedding coming up soon. However, if they do produce a new batch of blue moissanite I will buy two matching stones so I can have them made into earrings when I have the money.

Ugh, me too. Either that, or a ton of ring-hand rings to switch around haha.

The weird thing is, for me, I only like the colored center stones in the Legacy repro. I mean, clear center stones are pretty too, but the colored ones REALLY pull me in.

Thank you all so much again!

Panda, your jewelry is gorgeousssss. I'm drooling.
  • The customer service with Asha is extremely poor.  I have a 1.5 carat Emerald Cut Asha Diamond that is supposed to be in 14k white gold.  Basically what I recieved is yellow gold coated in Rhodium.  After 3 months of wearing this ring, it now has a yellowish tint.  The stone itself is very sparkly and "real" looking.  I love the stone but I am very disappointed in the gold. When ordering this ring my fiance was never told of the possibility that it would need to be "re dipped" as they say.  I am certain they did not tell him it would turn within the first few months.

He contacted them only to get really rude email replies saying everyone knows this is what white gold is.  I say that is a lie.  My mother has had a white gold ring for 52 years and it is still white.  Asha Diamonds has cheap (or poor quality) methods for producing their white gold ring.  If you want an asha diamond- buy the loos stone and get your setting elsewhere.  Or be smart and do not do business with them!
  • This is an old thread, but I wanted to add to it in case anyone is looking through trying to find diamond alternatives. I don't know much about moissanites, but I am thrilled with my white sapphires! Diamonds have a hardness rating of 10 and sapphires are a 9, which means that they will not break or chip. Unlike the moissanite, they are completely clear without any tinting.

The ring FI and I picked out (still saving on getting) is an aquamarine. I loved it more than the blue sapphires because it's more pale and goes with more. I also just love the color. Was never a diamond girl and can't really tell much difference with color in diamonds.

Edit: Didn't realize this was a zombie thread. Oops!
