Back with some TIP...

I'm not sure if anyone noticed I was gone, but I've been on a hiatus for a while because I've been working 50 hour weeks. Also, because there's been some TIP in my life...

BF and I are fighting like cats and dogs lately and I was so exhausted this afternoon that I told him I needed a week of space, no contact, to do some thinking about our future. I've been alone in my apartment for 5 or 6 hours now and I feel numb...I don't feel any clarity on what to do, I don't feel anything.

Any words of wisdom? LOLcats? Good trashy TV suggestions I can get off Netflix?

  • If you have access to the Lifetime Movie Network, I recommend it wholeheartedly. Especially "To Love, Honor and Betray." Holy balls, I couldn't stop watching that movie or hating myself for being unable to stop watching it. I hope for your sake it's on Netflix.

Sorry you're having to go through this. :( Make sure he respects that one week of no contact. If he doesn't, you have bigger problems than needing space. Good luck & take care of you.

P.S. Where in upstate NY do you live? SO's mom grew up near Binghamton, and he still has lots of close family up there. It sounds like a wonderful part of the country.

  • Thanks for your advice! I actually moved to the Boston area 3 months ago - I didn't realize I hadn't changed my info yet! I was in Ithaca, NY for 4 1/2 years of college including the summers and it really is a beautiful place, despite the brutal winters!

  • Aww I'm sorry kelly. I don't think that feeling will last long and you are probably just in a bit of shock from the arguing and the space that you are going to have. You have a lot of thinking to do and you need a clear mind to do that... just give it time to catch up from everything that has been going on. I bet in a day or so you'll be able to think clearly and really consider your future.
Here is something for you though for now:

P.S sorry I can't upload images for some reason.

I'm sorry about your fighting situation, and I hope the time apart helps you start to think and process things, and that everything happens as it should. In the meantime, clicky -  you're welcome.

Hey there, I know you don't know me but I'm sorry to hear you've been fighting. I know it's exhausting! I applaud you for asking for what you need. I think it can be so valuable to get some rest and space like you say. Always helps me figure out where my head really is and what I really need. Also, I highly recommend getting a pedicure (or giving yourself one) and indulging in a stupid trashy magazine if you're into that sort of thing. I'm certainly not (ahem) but I hear brad and Angie might be engaged and on any given day Jen/Kim/whoever might be pregnant/married/addicted to painkillers which can make for some good mindless entertainment.

  • Thanks everyone, I'm on different time zones than everyone else so I had already gone to sleep by the time a lot of you responded. I really appreciate it.

I'm feeling super lonely today - I don't have work until 2 and no one is in my apartment except for my roommate's dad sleeping in the guest room...who I've never met. I really wish my BFF was here...she sometimes doesn't go into work until the afternoon and I could really use her here right now to talk to :(

csousa, I never saw you live in the Boston area, idk how I missed that! I'm in Watertown, so about 10-15 minutes from Boston. Do you live in Boston or in a town near it??

A pedicure might be a really good idea for today...I have a ton of graduation $$ that I'm depositing today... And yes, I do love trashy magazines, but don't tell anyone! lol
