Wanted to have some video, but hated to pay $1,000 or more for a professional since I didn't want anything fancy, just a recording of the moment. Knew my father probably wouldn't mind taking home movies since he doesn't like to socialize and it would give him a buffer, but obviously not an option for him to take video of the procession since he's escorting the bride. I finally had the thought that perhaps my sister's boyfriend, who has a good eye for great pictures, might not mind manning the video camera during the procession and ceremony since he will be sitting with my parents in the front row while my sister is standing in the wedding party. Then between the two of them he and my father could pass the camera between them to video some of the important things (cake cutting, garter toss) during the reception. My mother is very critical and would have nixed this idea if she thought my sister's boyfriend would mind, but she thought it was brilliant. I just have to double check with him that my mother and I are right that it would appeal to him. Yay!
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
