Support Group

This is a super nerdy idea, but let me know if you are interested...

I know a lot of us are still in school and a lot of us are working on graduate degrees. Would you gals be interested in starting a support group to get us through all of our papers, thesis, dissertations, or other school related stuff? Once a week, we can start a post about what we have accomplished this week. We can also each take turns explaining our research. I know I'm more accountable for my work if I have to tell someone what I accomplished for the week.

I know there is a student board, but I never go over there much. It would kind of be like the posts that you gals do for getting in shape?

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I'm done with my degree so I won't be participating, but I definitely sympathize with all of you for sure.  Thesis writing (and research) was the bane of my existence just over a year ago.

The only slight catch I may foresee is that our lab had a fairly strict policy on what we were allowed to say to other people?  Well actually, it was "if you tell someone your data and they scoop you, it's your fault".  So for those people in fields where data may be scooped, it may be a bad thing to post results online :)  Unless you were just talking about general like "ugh, I finally got a good blot developed"

    Good luck, girls!
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton

Good point, Blue. I'm just doing a couple 10 pagers for my night classes in Global Affairs, using information that is openly available. For some people it might not be advisable to share their work.

Yeah, I was thinking in really general terms, like "I read 15 articles this week" or "I surveyed 300 undergraduates". And I figured, for explaining reserach, just a general idea abstract, with no results (or once it gets published, a link to the article!).

Yes please.  I'm just a lowly undergrad, but see that ticker *point at sig*, it's not helping my motivation.  It's hard to do anything when you have 46 days and you've been accepted to grad school.

Can we do one for those of us who are attempting to diet/lose weight/get in shape/all of the above?  I could really use some accountability, because I suck.
