Cupcakes!

Make everything better. I just put in an order for 2 dozen cupcakes for my cousin's baby shower. I got red velvet, chocolate with peanut butter frosting, strawberry, and carrot cake. They're going to tint the frosting blue (minus the peanut butter), and put little white chocolate rattles, carriages, teddy bears, and hearts on top! Last week I put on my Facebook status that I was looking for recommendations for cupcake places in So Cal, and that I liked a certain place in Long Beach. My SIL, the peach that she is, responds with "EWWWW!!! THAT PLACE IS NASTY!!! Go to such and such instead!" Well, sucks for her! 'Cause I put in the order at the place I liked. Srsly though. What kind of adult responds like that?Discuss your (F)ILs and/or cupcakes.

FILs are great. As are chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting... the homemade kind. Damn you panda, you're ruining my diet!

I like cupcakes. I love red velvet cupcakes. I love, love, love red velvet cupcakes from Sprinkles in Newport. FILs... I got lucky (and FI got the short end of the stick.) The only off one is my FI's step-brother's wife. However, they live in Denver, so we rarely see them. She just sends an odd email here and there.

Just great... now I have a major craving for red velvet cupcakes.

I want cupcakes. So, here's a twist in my regular FIL-horror-stories:BF and I bought his mom a GPS for her birthday this week. I was hesitant to spend the money, but he said "I promised my mom after she got lost in such-and-such a place years ago that when I had a good job I would buy her a GPS."So, I was like, okay, cute story and it will make her happy, so let's do it.Well, she loves it. I wasn't there when he gave it to her (last thing I want to do is drop by uninvited during her birthday lunch), but she was going nuts, standing out in the parking lot holding it up so it could set its location and all this stuff. She thanked him and told him to give me a big hug (?) for her. Then, she texted him later in the day and said we should come over for lunch on Sunday, but he declined. Then, she called him and told him we should come over on the next Sunday (this coming one) because they are doing BBQ and she will find a recipe for me that she can make on the grill...And we can stay as long as we want, and bring our swimsuits, and thanks so much for the gift.Bonkers, but at least this time she's being nice.

Note to self: Buy a GPS system just in case...

Maybe she's turning the other cheek? She'll probably even let you dirty up one of her dishes this time, too! :)My FIL are great, though his mom is a little on the nosy side and can't keep a secret to save her life. But she really likes me, and she's super nice, so I just don't tell her secrets and we're all good. His dad is OCD, which annoys BF to death, but makes me happy because I have strong OCD tendencies as well. I like having another non-procrastinator around. So I guess looking at it in that light, BF got the short end of the stick, because both my parents are also OCD, and he kinda hates it. But they're nice to him; they'd never do anything mean unless he hurt me or something. As for cupcakes, chocolate with peanut butter sounds incredible.

I'm slowly trying to make myself less chubby so I weened myself off chocolate, but just turned to carrot cake. MMMMHH CARROT CAKE ::drool:: My FIL's are often significantly better than his.

This is really weird, but I've never purchased cupcakes before. I like to make cupcakes that look like eyes for Halloween! My FILs are little crazy...on Sunday FI's family was having a reunion for his grandma's part of the family. Sunday morning his grandma had a stroke, but they still had the reunion without thinking twice about canceling things. Half of the people weren't there, including FMIL who was hosting it.

Then, she called him and told him we should come over on the next Sunday (this coming one) because they are doing BBQ and she will find a recipe for me that she can make on the grill...That is definitely an olive branch. Maybe things are going to turn around and she's going to face facts that you're in her son's life to stay. So...are you going to go?

Well, I'm not sure. I think it's a pretty good sign, considering my eating habits make me "weird and difficult" in her eyes. It's up to BF if we go. I would like to, but he and I would definitely decide ahead of time how long we will stay.Usually we agree on two or three hours, max. Unless we're both having a fabulous time and want to stay... which hasn't happened yet.But I am really surprised at her very positive reaction to..... anything that has to do with me. It's always been the opposite. Mention my name, and she would go all mean and unhappy.Good sign.... I'm still gonna keep my guard up, though. >_>

Yeah I would go (life is way too long if you don't like your inlaws) and just have an agreed upon exit strategy.

Jeana- Maybe your bf told her about the proposal that might be happening soon. I hated my brother's gf until they got engaged, now I've given her another chance and she might end up being my MOH.

Okay the knot is being r-tarded so I gotta make this several posts.ZOMG. I have the best boyfriend ever. So he just came home from school/work/whatever you wanna call it and I was in the bedroom. So he stopped me in the hallway and told me to close my eyes 'cause he had a surprise for me. Then he puts this in my hands.

His dad loved the carrots, the peas were my favorite part!

My FMIL is awesome even though she's in VA she's always driving up here to NJ to see us & BF's grandparents. My FGIL are cool too except when they fight with BF about little nonsense. But they're always there for everything & they treat me like a part of the fam already! My FBIL is a bit annoying sometimes but that's because he's a teenager (13). He acts all weird at times like a huge loner but for some reason when we're going out (like movie theatre) he gravitates towards me like a "mommy figure" haha it's kinda cute. :)CUPCAKES! They're awesome esp with sprinkles but CHEESECAKE is better! Haha :) BF & I made some cheesecake last night & it was so much fun...now that i'm done with my summer class we're gonna have celebratory cheesecake tonight!
