But seriously, how does your roommate not have a light in his room?? Is it a shed? Is his room a portal to the 16th century? I have a super easy mac and cheese that I make, and it keeps really well. So you could make the whole thing, then pop it into the oven when he's on his way. Throw together a nice salad and a bottle of wine (if your of age, natch) and there you go! And with all the cats and candles comments, I worry that someone's house is going to burn down. Does anyone else's cat have thumbs? Mine does, he's the next part of catvoultion.

Is his room a portal to the 16th century? ^ lolol and I'm pretty sure my cat has thumbs too... once I felt it and I thought "is this normal!?" and then I was worried he had some sort of weird tumor on his leg... I tend to freak out about things. dinner ideas... how about a crock-pot meal? They're generally very easy to put together and if you do end up crashing before BF gets home, he will still smell the deliciousness as soon as he walks in the door and it will be easy to keep warm and serve. I also love the picnic brunch idea.

We just got a new bed a couple weeks ago and so food has been banned from our room until Matt is less protective of it *he's silly like that). But! I realized there was a simple solution to the whole thing, an put it into action this morning! Instead of dinner, I made him breakfast! It works out perfectly, cuz I'm always up before him AND the roommates, so I had plenty of time to make it undisturbed! It was tasty, too. A good ole heart attack on a plate, just the way he likes it! I did this thing: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cheesy-Fried-Potatoes/Detail.aspx I just kept the bacon separate since I'm a vegetarian and thus also used olive oil rather than bacon grease. And my roommate doesn't have light in his room because the one outlet he has in there has something really strange going on and it tends to fry lamps. Our landlord's trying to figure out what's up but can't. Thus he goes without light. I actually had a cat one who pretty much literally had thumbs. She was polydactyl so had an extra toe or two on each front paw. Luckily she didn't really know how to use it.
