Not Engaged Yet

Oh hai...

Hey girls!!! I feel like I've barely posted lately, so I figured I'd say hi and fill you in on my life as of lately.

I started my new job as a waitress in Kenmore Square, and just finished training last night.  And my, you can learn a lot while people are rioting over the Stanley Cup playoffs in your restaurant.  Other than that, I've been doing lots of CoreFusion and working completely opposite schedules from FI.  :(

I miss him a bunch...and I miss you hoars.

So tell me...what's new with you??

    yay working out!

BF is still out of town, and he has been 'too busy' to call me. We talked last night for like 10 min, but thats about it.  I'm annoyed, but mostly because I really miss him. He's gonna be home tomorrow, but only for an hour or so before he leaves for a bachelor party weekend. He'll be back Sunday, but he'll be hungover. So, at least his laundry will be here to comfort me. He'll leave for the week again on Monday...

Other then that I've been working out and studying. I hate studying. Like alot. Right now I'm just writing out rules of law over and over and over again so that when the essays come I can just throw down. My life is lame....

Next week my yoga teacher is hosting a fundraiser for the summer solstice class at the park down the street, and the next five days, at that same park, the Chautauqua Institute is doing a travelling speaker series. They're going to have Civil War historical actors come and lecture. Its all free, and in the evening, so if I get my studying done I'm gonna check that out.

    I miss you too Shoes!

I'm glad you've learned a lot, and I wish you the best of luck waiting tables.  I can't do it - I got fired for laughing at a customer who requested ketchup with sirloin marsala.  Hey, I thought he was kidding.  So, for serious, best of luck.

My life?  FI and I are working on communication issues that we've had (hitting the books hard and trying to find a few extra hundred dollas to afford therapy), and we're moving forward with our planning.  We know that this engagement is going to be stressful since we're on a budget and we have pretty headstrong families, and so we're tackling it very much together.  If we can be open and communicate well through this, we can conquer anything, and we're both prepared to do whatever to make it work.  :)

That being said, we've been looking at venues, and we may have actually picked a date.  (EEEEPS).  So we're super excited and saving hard and really working towards what we need to do together.

Work is awesome.  I had my first bride the other day, and I think she might come back to get the dress (I REALLY hope she does) that she fell in love with.  I saw another bride completely fall apart yesterday in alterations because she wasn't communicating well with the seamstress.  It was awful, but, I helped pull her through it, and she seemed seriously grateful that I was there.  Basically, I just stood outside the room and got her water and a tissue.  Whatever, it helped.

So, that's my update.  Now, as I'm naked on my bed, I need to get dressed and shiit so I can be at work at 11.  Whoopdedoo.

Well, I broke down and drove up to South Carolina.  Four weeks is too long to be apart when there's a viable option to get together, and FSIL was driving me a bit nuts with her partying lifestyle and talking to me about all her drama with her friends and coming into my room without knocking and taking over the living room to watch TV all day so the only place I could go was my bedroom - I felt like a prisoner in my own home!  So now I'm here, laying in FI's bed while he's at work.  I drove up on Tuesday, didn't tell him I was coming until I crossed into Georgia - I sent him a picture of the "Welcome to Georgia!" sign and said, "See you at 4:30pm!"  And he freaked out!  He was texing me every 20 minutes to see how far away I was - I kept saying, "20 minutes closer than when you last texted me!"  Haha!

Yay for surprises!  And man oh man is reunion sex fantastic!  Even though he gets little sleep as it is since he has to get up and PT (Physical Training - aka workout in military terms), he woke me up at 1am for one heck of a romp even after we had fallen asleep two hours before after lovemaking.  Yowza!

Meanwhile, I'm using the relative isolation to study for my Florida Teacher's math test which I need to take still.  It's TOUGH!  I forgot how much I knew... is that strange?  Like factoring complex algebraic equations.  I know that I know how to do this, but... wow, it's been awhile!

I'm getting back into planning mode - so bathroom reno is at the top of the list and the wedding is in second. Also just doing a lot of work around the house. I'll have to AW some flowers soon.

Shoes, you make me feel guilty for being such a slacker about not working out. Although, I think you are the inspiration that I need to getting my meal plan and workout plan back on track.

It is ribfest in my town this weekend, so pretty excited about that. Also it is chicken and rib fest in the city next week, so that is always fun too! Ugh, what was I saying out a meal plan again?

Hiiii Shoes! I have missed you!

I also want to come stalk you in Kenmore.

My life is pretty good right now. Everyone at work is riding the Stanley Cup high, so it is bound to be a pretty mellow work day. Also, I get to leave at about 3:30 for the rehearsal dinner BF and I are going to, and tomorrow I only have a half day before I leave for the wedding, so that is fun :) I am super pumped about my outfits and getting pretty :)

P.S. Opposite schedules suck, I used to be a waitress so I know how it goes :( Just hang in there and remember that every fistful of moolah is going to a kick-ass party that is the christening of a crazy good future with your FI :)

Wow...sounds like a lot is up with you ladies!

Hazel, don't envy...my diet still leaves a lot to be desired.  I just decided to start working out again, so I didn't become one of those women with four asses.

Shoes - You are just reminding me that I need to do something because I too don't want to be a woman with four asses. Honestly, anyone saying that they did something active on the board is a little nudge for me to do something, I just need to take the bait.

As of today I am trying to distract myself from looking at houses that BF and I can't have right now. I am excited to see BF tonight :)  We only see each other a couple days a week because we live 45 mins apart now and have completely opposite schedules. I am extra excited because it's fajita night and I am dying for real food because I'm on this stupid SlimFast diet and am STARVING! I've lost 1.6 lbs though since Monday morning even being on my period so that's my motivation right now to stick with. Ya I know not the healthiest diet but whatverrr.

    I miss you shoes!!

Working all week while the big boss is in St. Louis for training...which honestly, I don't think has anything to do with our company, but rather investing BS..but whatever...he needed to get out of town to stop being cranky...

Been trying to get my fat ass back in to doing yoga, but that requires moolah, which I'm working on. SO and I figured out the new budget, have yet to figure out housing arrangements for the next year, but I did sign up for my first business classes! :) *sigh* switched my major to business management, and am taking 3 classes in the fall 6-9 3 days a week *sigh* ummm....

Working on hosting an MS awareness fundraiser/bike show/family event/bike ride for work, as well as a company wide garage sale....

On top of that, trying to figure out how to get my brothers out here for the fourth of july

Also, trying to give SO motivation to start working hard core on his shiit for his teaching certificate process so he can start applying for jobs (not that they've posted yet, buttheads...)

All the while trying to not go insane...

Yeah....that one's not working so well lol

    HI!
Not a whole lot has gone on with me.  I think we are taking the canoe out on Monday or going hiking.  I am really looking forward to doing either one of those.  We might be going mushroom hunting on Sunday with our friends, that will be lots of fun :)  The couple whos wedding we planned is coming back on Friday from their honeymoon, so I am sure we will be going out to dinner with them this weekend.  I am getting my nails done on Monday as well.  :)  I think that is everything.  My life isn't very exciting right now.

Shoes- Gotta love when people decide to riot after a championship game. Did you see anything really crazy??

Calindi- Is it weird that I'm jealous that you get to have reunions like that? I'm sure it really sucks for you guys because you go through it all the time, but BF and I have never spent a single day away from each other. Literally! Not that I'm sick of him or anything, but with living/working together we haven't ever had that excitement of missing someone. And the reunion sex as you say!

Nothing at all new here. Our pizza shop used to be the local hangout 10 years ago and would have people waiting out the door for these things called chicken bagels. We are bringing them back and word has spread like wildfire around the community. Who would ever guess something so simple could be such a big deal? We are really hoping it brings in a lot of business.

Shoes good luck with the new job!!!

I just started working out on Monday. I am a super couch potato (ie lazy) so this is a really big deal for me. I downloaded the C25K (Couch to 5k) app on my phone -- they make it for iphone & android.  It's 3 days a week, 30 minutes each day. Yesterday was my day 2.  This week's workout is a 5 minute warm-up walk, then you alternate 60 seconds of jogging with 90 seconds of walking, and then a 5 minute cool-down walk. I turn Pandora on in the background so I have music to listen to & then turn the C25K app on. When it's time to jog or time to run a voice comes over & tells you!  It hasn't been SO bad, although I was ready to quit about 3/4 of the way through yesterday. I stuck with it though & felt so accomplished after!!

I'm jealous you own a pizza shop.  There is absolutely no good pizza in Miami anywhere that I've looked (and we've tried dozens of shops).  Real shame!  There's a place back near my parents' home that I go to every time I'm visiting.  We might actually serve that pizza as a late night snack at the wedding!

The reunions are nice.  I kind of look forward to him going away since I know the reunions will be that sweet, but there's also a readjustment phase every single time which is a bummer.  I've heard it's significantly harder after a deployment, which makes sense.  We tend to bicker the few weeks before he leaves (though we were much better this time - just the night before!) and then a few weeks after he gets back as we get used to living together again. Maybe for a mini-version, take a weekend with some girl friends?  Sometimes a few days is all it takes to miss each other!  I say 2 weeks is the ideal amount of time - it's long enough to start to miss each other, but short enough that it passes quickly.  Though you'd probably never want to take 2 weeks of vacation time without your significant other!!!  A weekend should be a fine substitute!

I'm good - my new job is hella busy. I've been coming home after 10PM a lot of nights, mainly because we have promotional screenings and then I wind up sitting through the film (sometimes I have to stay to write up the report for the studio, and other times I stay because hey - who's going to turn down a free film? Not me!)

Sorry I kind of ignored you on FB chat today, Shoes. I was looking up the Facebook pages of some businesses I was trying to contact and my work computer is soooo slow.

Other than that, not much is up - I get to spend the day with BF tomorrow which makes me really happy. I've been complaining that my body hurts, because I'm always on the go lately and he promised a full body rubdown and to give me the full "goddess" treatment. Yay.

Despite the late hours, that sounds like a cool job, GPB.

I've been super busy at work lately. All my projects are having crisis after crisis. It's not cool.

In fun news, I'm rehearsing for my dance school's talent show. I'm in a friend's jazz/contemporary piece, and I'm performing "Popular" from Wicked. It's going to be hilarious.

We also booked a florist this week, and I'm on round two of invitation proofs. Round three should be done tomorrow.
