Halloween Party Updates

ETA:  Paige informed me that I clearly missed another PIP thread.  So I'm changing this one!

Tell us about your weekend!  Halloween parties?  Trick or treators?

Saturday night was a total dud - we tried to go to a bar or club or something, and just failed on the area completely, ended up being totally bored, and walked 3 miles home (we both agreed the walk was the most fun part of the night, no joke!).  Last night we didn't get any trick or treaters, and even when we left the candy outside to go to a party, no one took any!  The party was fun, though.  It was at a friend's house, and it was a really good time!  We won "Best Couples Costume".

BF and I were too sick to do anything, so our Halloween was a dud as well. *shrugs* Cute costumes, though!

Friday as seen in the other thread I broke my toe while setting up for my library program. It kind of threw the whole weekend off a bit. After being at the ER for three hours BF and I went back to the library to finish setting up my program. We were there till 12am. But the program on Saturday was a massive success! We had 91 parents and kids go through the trick or treat maze. :)

Saturday evening we had a little Halloween get together and apparently I was the life of the party thanks to my pain pills. lol I'm on lortab. We watched Hocus Pocus and vegged out with pizza and wings. BF's costume turned out wonky because the hair dye made his hair look green instead of blond, but eh.

Oh and Sunday was Cirque du Soleil Dralion. It was AWESOME.

I got really drunk on Saturday at my friend's in New Brunswick.  We made jell-o shooters, punch and cupcakes.  Then we danced too much, partied at the Legion (with the old people) and ate pizza.  Oh, and I got the quote of the night...as we're standing on the back deck so my buddy can have a smoke it started to snow.  I open the door and scream in "HOLY SH!T IT'S SNOWING BIOTCHES!  Happy Effin' Halloween!!"

Then we went to bed at 4 a.m.  It was great;)

No parties for me - not really a party girl (I did go to a baby shower on Saturday, does that count?).  FI had to work a 14 hour shift last night (5pm-7am) - he's exhausted.  He works as a security guard in a guard shack/entrance to a housing development.  He called me after a couple little kids came by (with their mom in tow) to give him some candy since he couldn't go trick or treating.  He said they were about 8-10 or so.  How precious.

I helped my parents pass out candy at their house last night (no one trick or treats in my neighborhood).  We had about 150 kids come by and almost ran out of candy.  One little monkey, I'd say about 18 mos old, came up - I handed him a dum dum lollipop (he had his little bucket hidden, so I couldn't put it in there) - he proceeded to put the lollipop in his mouth, paper and all (his mom did rescue it and get the paper off).  Another little one, less than 2 yrs old, shut the screen door for me and then tried to open it again and came on inside - he liked us and didn't want to leave.

Yesterday we went to a wedding. That was the most fun we had this weekend. It wasn't great, but we had fun and the bride and groom liked it, so all in all it was fun. The pics are in the other Halloween thread.

I know that the wedding wasn't perfect, and wasn't the best, or most expensive, but at the end of the day they were married and happily together. So it really gets under my skin when people see the pictures I took and start ragging on the wedding. (People at work have done this today.) Mind you their JOP and Cake maker backed out on them two weeks ago so they had to throw those together at the last minute, and they didn't have much money at all. But I still don't think that anyone has the right to scoff at the pictures and make rude comments. So what if it wasn't perfect, they enjoyed it and had a blast.

Cute costumes, cal! Here's mine. I won cash for best female costume at the place we went and took BF and myself out for brunch the next day to celebrate. :) I was a Southern belle a la Scarlett O'Hara...

    So adorable, Marley!

We went to the corn maze last night. It was the final night they were open, and it wasn't too crowded. I felt like we were in an episode of Scooby-Doo, wandering around the corn with our tiny flashlight.

Last year, we went earlier in the month on a crowded Saturday and there were people hiding in the corn to jump out at you as you walked past. Scary! Fortunately, there was none of that this time.

BF and I went to two parties Friday night, BF had this amazing little dutch girl costume that came complete with fake boobs, that you could fill up with liquor, which he gave shots out of all night. LOL I went as Sandy at the end of Grease and I was so happy to find that every one knew who I was, because I had to wear a pink jacket instead of black...cause I couldn't find a black one.

Then Saturday I was at the OU/Colorado game with my wonderful sister. She paid for the tickets and my gas money so that I could drive three hours from Tquah to OKC and go to the game with her, and hang with my family for the weekend. So all in all it was a great weekend.

    Thanks, leia!

I've never done a corn maze, sounds fun. Speaking of Scooby Doo, I saw a group of friends at the place we went dressed as Velma, Daphne, Shaggy, Scooby, Freddy, and a park-ranger-looking character. It was funny. :)
