Not Engaged Yet

Engaugemint Chikkan

I was watching food network this morning, and what was barefoot contessa making?

Engagement Chicken.  No, Ina, just...No.

But she did mention that it originated in Glamour magazine. So here I present to you, foro hilarious entertainment (read the comments!):

Glamour Engagement Chicken

Also, for the lurkers out there.  If engagement chicken didn't work for you, CLEARLY you need to make "Hook-him Apple Pie" to go WITH the chicken. Duh.

The comments are priceless.... do they really think making a meal will get their man to propose.

Some of those ladies are perfect examples of BSC that aren't on TK (yet)

I saw that too!!! Just as she was putting the lemon in. I protested by watching Say Yes to the Dress on demand instead. hehe

HA, I just came here to post this, a "vintage" version of Hook Him Apple Pie, except it's cherry.

Apparently, BSC philosophy has deep roots, my friends...

Well damn I thought Hetshup was kidding when she posted about this. lol

This is by far my favorite comment:

I made this recipe twice. The first time I made it my girlfriend got engaged 1 week after. The second time I made it my boyfriend proposed to me 1 week later! This sounds insane but it is completely true.

I like the people who are like "I made this awhile ago and my BF broke up with me, I made it again with my now husband!  IT WORKS!"  Um, yeah, half the time?

Though it was funny-I was watching Phineas and Ferb yesterday, and the older sister was trying to plan a wedding for her aunt, and the cake she ordered comes out all wrong.  But the bottom tier was a chicken in a cage.  My first thought was "lol chicken cake."  So I guess I have been reading this board long enough that it has invaded my TV time.  Woot?

Aside from the ridiculous myth surrounding the recipe, do you think it would taste good? lol

No I wasn't kidding. FI and I watched the show, I explained what it was, he said I should make it sometime. I looked at him like he grew an extra head and he proposed that night. I am not kidding.

I made it the next night, I'm not so good with the roasted chickens BTW.
