Not Engaged Yet

Oh hai, Monday....go away

I need a virtual hug. Nothing is truly bad, just an icky weekend and I feel like I need to be cheered up. It started with a blown tire on the highway on my way home Friday (with no spare), had some super fun arguing with BF in the middle, and ended with a phone call last night from my sobbing bestie who is getting married in 5 days. Not a great weekend. Monday better be nice to me or I'ma punch it in the face.

LOLcats and funnies?

I was half an hour late to work and I don't even care. All I can think about is how I just sat down and I'm ready to go home.

    *sighMonday*

    I hate Monday.

I have no pictures or funnies to share, but I can give you the following advice:

Zappos window shopping is the best Monday morning activity EVER.

If that doesn't work, check out the following link:

Peek I will definitely check that out - both things. Pinterest and window shopping can cure almost anything :)

Awww. I'll give you a high five to make you feel better. I have a horrible HORRIBLE cold right now (perfect because I have a presentation today to give) which feels more like the plague so I doubt you want a hug.

My cat is licking my hand and now my hand smells awful.  Like old cat food.  I just showered.  Geez.

So my day sucks too.  :)

My idea today was to look at other jobs so I wouldn't be so freaked out about the one I'm applying for.

FAIL. Now I'm just more nervous and freaking out. I feel so underprepared for every job opening I see. Bleh. Good thing today was a half day at school.

HAHA Elle, that's the worst. Eau de cat saliva is not a good parfum.

Polkadot I hope your plague clears up fast :/ Boo! And Yaga, that is just awful - how does one even get into a master's program with that (mis)understanding of the English language?

Lunar the LOLcats made me laugh, thanks :) Love you too Ray!

ETA: Kelly good luck with job stuff!! It will all work out!

As for my friend - she and her FI have been arguing a bit (over wedding stresses - you guys may remember that BFF's FMIL almost cancelled the RD last week - it's all settled now), and her FI has been really distant. She is on her phone all the time and when BFF made a comment about hoping she doesn't have her phone on her during the entire reception, her FI said, "What is your issue, you are being so sensitive lately." She was upset about it all and I tried to remind her that with all of the wedding stress, both of them are much more tense than they normally would be, and that is making her FI a little snappy and out of it and making BFF more sensitive to things.

I ended up having to get off the phone with her faster than I normally would have (because BF and I were in the middle of our own argument), so I only got to talk to her for about half an hour and I was worried she was mad at me for leaving. I asked her how she is doing today and she said they are better, but she was up all night with a stomach thing. Poor thing can't catch a break.

ETA2: The argument with BF encompassed quite a few items, but chief among them was the future talk. Today I came in to work and my coworker decided I was the person she wanted to confide in about being 5 weeks pregnant. I am so happy for her, really, but it was a bit of a knife to the heart. I definitely rolled my eyes at the Big Guy upstairs.

wedding stresses suck...  I feel bad for your friend, and you!  it'll all be over soon.  :)

I woke up today with a sore throat.  I've been drinking hot tea, and it helps, but I need to hunt down some Tylenol or something.  I'm also wearing a super comfy dress and tights with boots, so I'm feeling pretty cozy.

I'm kicking my butt into gear because it's a crazy week for me.  I need to finish Christmas shopping right after work (one-stop, TARGET!) then go home and cook some enchiladas and beans for my mexi-H.  :)  I plan to wrap gifts before he gets home, too.

Thursday night I'm hosting a Christmas recital for my piano students.  I will be baking so many cookies and brownies... luckily, my mom and a friend are helping me with the baking and taking some home to do.  I have to set up and decorate, create/print programs, make sure I've bought all the supplies, print their certificates... crazy!

I got cute little reindeer stuffed animals to give to my students when they complete their recital and receive their certificates.  they're darling, and I know they'll just love them.

we also have a Pot Luck at work on Thursday, so I have to make a dessert for that too.  I'm trying these:  click.  should be pretty easy!

Friday my little bro graduates from college, so we'll go straight to his graduation after H gets off work, and then an after-party.

I also need to pack up the gifts for H's little brothers and take them to the post office.

WHEW.  I always forget how crazy this time of year is.  I feel stressed, but at the same time I'm happy because I love the holidays.  I love to give, and I've had a blast this year picking out gifts for our family.  we decided to do gifts only for family this year, and I'll bake or offer services for our close friends (free baby-sitting, etc.)  we're trying to pare things down!  it doesn't seem like it, but we are.  :)

I hope everything calms down with your bride-friend, and that you worked everything out with your man and things settle down for you!

[QUOTE]I was up until 4 am writing a paper for my group project due today.  Any of you who are FB were privy to the lovely process.  My partner wrote 2 pages.  I wrote 6.5.  And I had to essentially rewrite his entire portion because his grasp of the English language is that of a 7 year old.  Here's an excerpt: "Ever since HIV/AIDS epidemic is discovered in 1980’s, it has evolved and stricken from one demographic to another." - This is the first sentence of the abstract.  UGH. "   Although many efforts and interventions are targeting these populations to help to treat, and to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS for those population." - This is not even a complete sentence, and certainly not a coherent thought. I'm so glad to be done with this class after tonight.   Sorry your weekend was gross Csousa.  I hope things with BF are okay now, and I really hope your friend is feeling better.
