Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

Ceremony- HELP!

I am excited for the ceremony and want to do some kind of unity-ish thing in the ceremony. BUT I don't know what to do... I know there is the sand ceremony, the unity candle, and the tree planting, but none of those blow me away. Does anyone know of any other ideas? Thanks for the help!

Re: Ceremony- HELP!

  • A wedding is a unity ceremony. But if you insist, there is also the rose ceremony, wine ceremony, putting love letters in a time capsule, handfasting, the cord of three strands (if you're religious), etc.

  • I was just in a wedding where instead of a traditional unity ceremony they, with their witnesses signed the marriage license. At my wedding our mothers will each carry a bouquet of flowers when they walk down the aisle and for our unity ceremony we will mix the flowers together. Good luck finding something that fits your style!

This is also a normal required part of the ceremony in some states and many countries (like Canada and the UK). I wouldn't call it a unity ceremony.
