TK Gamers?

I know Jeana is a gamer, and I know there must be more out there!
TK Gamers of the NEY board, unite!

I'm a PC gamer. Counter Strike 1.6, Team Fortress 2, L4D.
I also play Sims 3 and GTAIV.

Ever since college, I don't play as much as I used to. But I'm wondering if there's anymore out there on this board :)

I used to play WoW. I mean like obsessively play.  I have 4 free months because I earned "points" on their WoW credit card, but I'm debating whether I should get into it again or not.

I play Star Craft 2 with FI sometimes.
    I'm not good at feelings.

I'm an Xbox gamer girl. :) Halo, Gears, and a little bit of CoD (I really like the new Zombie feature). I also have a DS.

Oh and I'm very excited for Sims Medieval! :)

I really wanted to get into WoW because of Cataclysm...but I still haven't yet. The demo just looked awesome, it pumped me up, but then the trial crashed on my laptop. :(

My brother use to play Starcraft, I use to try to play. Good memories :)

deburning...you have no clue how excited I am. I didn't know there was going to be a Sim Medieval! That's my top three favorite periods of history. "Build a Kingdom" eep!
    Launches March 22!
I don't play CoD, but I wish I did. Especially because of zombies.I play it for free at my friend's dorm, but it's not the same!

And of course LittleBigPlanet counts, it's a game isn't it?! A cute one at that. :D

I play World of Warcraft and Sims 3.  The boyfriend got me into WoW.  I like that we both play because I feel like if only one of us did, the other would get really irritated.

My H is a big PC gamer. I've heard a fair bit about WoW, Warhammer, Starcraft, Star Trek, Aion, DC Universe, and now Rift, so I feel almost like a vicarious gamer. :P

WoW, console RPGs/racing games/some shooters. Lately it's just been WoW though, as I don't have to think too much with that.

And Jeanna, I see you finally gave into temptation with WoW :P

Desert, I had never heard of Warhammer but I just created an account and I'm downloading a free trial....>:)
I've never played DC Universe, but I've dabbled in Champions Online. Mostly because of BF though, I'm not a big superhero gal.

Caitlin, you could always try to bootcamp it if you want. I don't have a Mac so I don't know how it works, but I know a few people with Macs that bootcamp.

zipis, Need for Speed by any chance? It was Need for Speed games that made me overly confident in my driving skills when I was learning how to drive..

I've tried Rift. I was kinda meh on it. Essentially it's WoW with less cartoony graphics, and seeing as I like my cartoony blood elf I may as well just play WoW :P Plus, their "hunter" does this weird pelvic thrust thingy when he calls his pet that made me go o_O

And yep. Need for Speed, Hot Pursuit is my favorite racing franchise. I am, however, disappointed in the lack of split screen for the newest one. It's the most fun playing it with other people in the same room, IMO.

BF plays Guild Wars, I don't know if any of you WoWers know of it or play.
WoW definitely wins for graphics, but GW is free to play (after you buy it first, of course)

Zip, I think H likes Rift b/c it's a different universe w/different rules than WoW. He played WoW for a long time and is just bored with it now. Every time an expansion comes out, his friends tell him how cool it is, he plays for like a week, and then talks about how it isn't challenging or fun any more. So I think he just likes having something similar but different enough to be a challenge again? I don't know. I don't know details. Maybe those who are happy with WoW wouldn't enjoy it? But thought it worth a mention at least. :)

I can see where he'd have that feeling. WoW is running into a problem of orginal content, especially with this latest expansion which just rehashed old content. It's a cool concept, especially for a "Wrathbaby" like me who didn't get to see Old World when it was Current World and thus gives me an excuse to go to old places, but as far as gameplay yeah. I can see how it can get old. Especially with the recent class homogenization and "easy moding" they seem to be doing.

However, I will say that the raids are fun and challenging, or so they seem to me. I've heard they're comparable if not better than more classic raids.

(The above post can basically be summed up with, "Nerd nerd nerd nerd nerd, nerdy nerdy nerd nerd!")

Has anyone ever played Heroes of Might and Magic? The third one is probably my favourite game of all time.

Also, Jeana I really like Fable 3. But I feel like they took out a lot of good things from Fable 2 :/ I don't like interacting with people anymore, so I just ignore them.

And I'm really excited for Sims Medieval. Sims 3 is good (I particularly like Adventures) but Medieval looks fantastic so far.

The Sims 2 (haven't made the jump to 3 yet). All the way. It's about 1am as I write this and I can't sleep so I'm going to go play now, actually.

Alanna- Warhammer is also a tabletop game. You put together and paint your own models. I have the Wood Elves, but sadly they're only half painted and I've only ever played with them twice. :( And since I mentioned physical games, I also really like Magic: The Gathering and a bunch of the German Game of the Year board games.

Bren- I loved Heros of Might and Magic growing up! My dad and I would play two player games all the time.

Here! Here! Mostly console games: PS3 for the FF games and other RPGs and XBOX for CoD, Left 4 Dead, Halo etc etc so I can play online with my little brother. I'm also big on the Pokemon games (haha I haveta catch them all!) so I spend all my commuting time on my black DS, sometimes I hope people just think I have some kind of tiny laptop until I accidentally turn the sound on.

Ps-Anyone go to PAX East? I was there last weekend and my feet were killing me by the end, but I got so much free swag!! Big <3 to Rockstar games for having women's cut American Apparel tees that they gave away for FREE (everything else I got was a Men's M, which is still too large).

PPS-CoD Black Ops Zombie mode is SO much fun. I even like the mini zombie game on the intro screen.

DH goes through phases where he will buy a bunch of miniatures and ask me to paint them. We spent a ton of money on supplies and models, and then he never once actually played with them. But I think I did a decent job of painting such tiny things. Laughing

I played WoW since launch as a resto druid hardcore for several years - even pushing at the top of my game into the top 50 US - top 100 World even - those were the days of vanilla and Burning crusade though R.I.P. Sunwell - I was hoping Cataclysm would spark some of that back but sadly without the same people ( I since had server xferred when I met my husband) , it lost it's spark for me. Also with life being much more hectic than back then , I decided to give up hardcore raiding and gamimg. Before WoW I played Everquest hardcore for nearly 5 years as well.

MY hubby had a friend give us several closed beta codes for Rift and I tried it hesitantly but was pleasantly suprised. While it could be called a "wow" clone - anyone who has played MMO's from the past knows every one tries to grab elements from previous ones to attract players or simplify things. I don't mind it because it made the transition quite easy and the elements are casual which is a perfect fit for our gaming lifestyle now. Like anything its to each their own - I just missed gaming when I retired from wow and am really enjoying Rift with my husband and real life friends.

Aside from PC gaming , we play everything. Currently on the wait/reserve list is : Mortal Kombat , Duke Nukem and some other one I can't recall at the time. Our favorites are RPG's and MMO's obviously - but we have played everything and owned every gaming system since the Atari 2600.

I'm am Xbox gamer, although honestly I haven't played much since I moved to Dubai. AND my bf is not a gamer AT ALL - I had to get him drunk just to play Halo with me and his friends!!! But being here in Dubai I can't buy any games so when I go back to the States I'm going to spoil myself quite nicely...

My mom did visit however and brought my Rockband kit and Rockband 3!! But I failed to bring RB1 and 2 so the music's getting old already...
