So, HI everyone! My name is Karol and I'm new to the boards. I've been lurking for a little bit, was waiting to actually get engaged to join but then I saw the "not yet engaged" boards and decided to join anyway

So about me, I'm 28, from Wisconsin, I work as a data services specialist for a web management company, I'm on a break from school because I haven't totally figured out what direction that is taking...
I have a 5 year old daughter whom I have been raising on my own essentially since birth. (her biological father is not in the picture, abandoned her at about 6 months old, he was a terrible person who abused me and cheated on me so it's for the best). She's an AWESOME kid - I'm very blessed. She's smart and funny and just the light of my life.
My boyfriend's name is Greg. We met through a mutual friend (a guy who actually had been trying to get with me for years but had been stuck in the friend zone lol. oops) and he asked me to be his girlfriend on August 17th, 2010 (which just so happened to be what would have been my grandparents 64th wedding anniversary heh). We're madly in love and we both truly feel that God has brought us together. We have so much in common and there are SO many coincidences that are too strong to deny as signs. We're planning to hopefully wed on August 18th, 2012 (1 day after my grandparents wedding anniversary 8/17/46).
Greg brought me back to the Catholic faith when we started dating and he started getting me to attend Sunday Mass with him and his family every week. I had been raised Catholic but ended up exploring other religions and falling away from God for a long time, but I came back to it by going to mass with him and learning about how the Faith has changed. I just finished classes and I will be confirmed at Easter Vigil on Saturday, April 23rd in the Church that Greg and I found and chose as the site for our wedding and the school where we would send our children.
Greg is the only real daddy figure my daughter has really known, and they absolutely adore each other. He's so good to her and he has so much patience (more than I do!! haha!). We're planning on moving in together by the time that Cheyenne starts school in August/September 2011, I expressed that I wanted to be engaged by the time we move in together, and he took me ring shopping back in February, so I think it's coming soon... we'll see though,
SO I'm anxiously awaiting that proposal and trying to not mention it to him even though that's SUPER hard when he hints at it all the time LOL.
Anyway I look forward to posting on these forums and getting to know all you lovely ladies!

I'm also excited to know other girls who are going through the same thing as me as I don't really have any friends who are in the same stage as I am in a relationship, they're pretty much all married off already!!!
Re: Thought I'd post a introduction thread...
What's your favorite crappy weather food? I'm thinking of doing chicken pot pies for dinner tonight.
[QUOTE]Welcome!! I love when kids name the animals. My HS secretary had a female dog named Ted. She told her boys that Ted is a boys name but they didn't care. What's your favorite crappy weather food? I'm thinking of doing chicken pot pies for dinner tonight.

LOL @ Ted. Too funny. Cheyenne initially said just "Tim" for the fish but I talked her into Timmy cause I know a douche at work named Tim lmao and have an awesome cousin named Timmy - so it works. She said that Timmy did sound much better. LOL<div>
</div><div>Hmm, generally I like chili or home made chicken noodle soup when the weather is crappy. Tonight I think we're having left overs lol.</div>
[QUOTE]Welcome. I love your daughters name. Your story sounds similar to my mothers but I'm the baby in your story lol

<div>Really? Aww. heh. I like hearing from people who were in my daughter's position - I like to know that I won't totally screw her up with all the mistakes I've made... lol</div>
