Cake Pops

This was absolutely worthy of a post. I just had a birthday cake pop from Starbucks and it was AMAZING. The cake was moister than any brownie or cake I have ever had.

Has anyone else tried them?
or
Has anyone made cake pops before? If so, how moist was it and share a recipe!

I haven't tried cake pops, but an old roomie who is a baker on the side  makes cake truffles with all her left over cake trimmings.  She take the cake trimmings mix them with some frosting, form a ball and then dip them in chocolate.  My favs were red velvet cake truffle and then there is also the lemon tangy cake truffle.  FI loves her sour cream chocolate cake truffles.

</div><div>I was thinking about doing them for the wedding/rehersal dinner or suggesting them for the shower (which I think my mom might end up paying for, but not plan... so it isn't as rude as it sounds lol)

Bakerella rules. Super adorable Sesame Street cake pops:

    172-sesame-street-cake-pops.jpg

    Yay. :)

Sea, is the icing on the Starbucks pops kind of a hard icing? If it's not, I'm going to be all over some pops. If it is, I'm still going to try them. Smile

The tiramisu flavor is really great as well. I'm glad to see Bakerella get a shoutout on that starbucks blog considering she really put these on the map. So much so that she has a best-seling book out about all things cake pops.

</div><div>Hmm. Interesting. I hoped it'd be softer icing, but the cake part being so moist is appealing...can you tell I take my desserts very seriously? Also, does any of this sound as dirty to you as it does to me?

Cheesecake on a Stick - the only thing is I found they melted pretty easily... but they were eaten even faster.

Bakerella is the best. I have tried many of her recipies and haven't been let down yet! Her cakepops came out delicious and people raved. Her Red Velvet Cake recipe (clicky) got me even more compliments!

I haven't had cake "pops" per se, but a friend of mine makes incredible cake balls.  And, yes, they are the most moist cake I have ever tasted.  My favorites that she makes are oreo and key lime.  Yumm.  Now I'm craving them!
