May I have your opinions? PIP - New

Since it's kind of slow today...

I am going to be printing the Spanish version of our STDs myself.  I was going to order them from Vistaprint, but we need less than I thought and it seems like a waste to order 100 postcards.

Anyway, I was hoping I could get your opinions on them so far.  In particular, what do you think of the fonts?  the color?  Let me know if this pink is too baby-shower-invitation.  I'm having a hard time deciding on these two things but all suggestions are appreciated!

Also, I updated my planning bio (AW).  Does anyone know how to make the link centered in my signature?

I do not know spanish at all, but I like the layout and fonts you used.

I do not like the pink, but it's not a color I really like anyways.  I would suggest a tad darker if your concerned about the "baby pink".

Maybe a greyer or fainter pink.  It is a bit of a baby girl pink.  But I like everything else about them.

Thanks.  I think what I'm going to do is just try printing different shades and make it the palest shade that will actually show up.

    I agree with Ricky.

So romantic!  I love your bio and inspiration boards.

I think they're beautiful!  My only concern was whether it should be "el 15 de" but after googling it, it seems pretty common to do it your way (as I'm sure your FI and his family have told you, so ignore me).  I really like the font and the graphic on the corners.  Do they look like your English ones?

Overall, I think it looks nice. Is that Copperplate font?

The pink is a little baby-shower-ish, but maybe I wouldn't have thought that if you hadn't already said it.  One idea I had is maybe to add a very faint pattern behind the text. That might dress it up a little more and make it look less like a baby shower invite.

I was wondering if the placement of the little scrolly flourishes is based on something else you're using? The placement kind of draws the eyes from right to left instead of left to right. However, this is me hanging around with graphic designers too much, so don't change a thing if you like it.

Have you tried a gray border with pink accents? I think that might be pretty, and it would be less "It's a Girl!" :)

Ditto PPs on the pink - but it's still beautiful!!

I believe you need to go into your siggy code and put </br /> between your photo and the link to bump it down. It should center on it's own.

    Thank you everyone.

Cate- FI says no el but thanks for pointing it out so I could double check!

leia- I think it is Copperplate font.  I just changed that this morning.  There is no reason I placed the scrolls where I did, but I don't see it the way you do.  My eyes are drawn left to right.  Am I the only one?  Does it look funny to anyone else?

Desert - I didn't try switching the colors because I think the pink I want will be too pale to read.  But that's an easy change so maybe I'll try it and see how it looks.

I was thinking you could keep the fonts the same color, but have a gray border instead of pink.  Make the swirlies in the corners pink instead of gray, and the inner dot border pink too? I have a hard time picturing it, but it might be worth a try. It's not that I don't like the pink, but I always like to see all the options before making a decision. It took me FOR.EV.ER to decide on my invitations. :)

I like the first one, it really has impact. The pink might be too pale though. What happens if you brighten instead of fade?

Okay, maybe it's just me. Don't worry, it doesn't look funny to me at all!

I do like the pink paper with the grey font that Desert posted.

Desert - That is very pretty- I love pink and gray together (obviously).  I just don't want pink to be the main event.  Plus, FI picked out the original design so I really want to stick with that- just improve it.

Thanks again for the input everyone!

I like the one with the gray border, but try making it the same shade as the design you used before!  A darker grey might really make the pink pop, and will add a really elegant touch.

After looking and thinking, here is what I would do:

Make a smaller pink border inside of the outer gray border. Make the gray border a bit darker. Remove the swirlies from the corners and instead put just one in pink under the first line of text.

    OR

Keep the paler pink border and take out the gray swirlies on the corner and put one in pink or gray (whichever you prefer) under the first line.

Clearly, I am not such a big fan of your swirlies in the corners like you have them above. Though they're pretty, I think I would like them better if they were corner shaped swirlies, like this:

    http://www.100proofpress.com/store/images/1532.gif

(bad image, I know, but I think you'll get the idea)

Obviously, this is just my 2 cents, and it's YOUR STD so you need to do what you like best. But since you asked... :)

Actually, I agree a lot with desert about both the scroll detail (either getting a corner-shaped one or placing one under the text), and the possibility of pink paper. I love that pink paper, and I think the gray text would look very elegant.

That said, I like your lighter-pink border version the best of the two revisions.

For what it's worth, I've had several visual design classes. I agree that the scrolls at the corners are a tad distracting. Your focus should be the words, not the corners.
The fonts and the shade of gray look gorgeous. The lighter pink makes it much less baby-pink. I think you're doing a beautiful job! Just keep playing with it.

Thanks Desert!  That's actually the type of swirl/scroll I wanted but didn't find.  I was basing the design off THIS and I think the scroll you found will work better.  Thanks a lot!

And thanks for the tips Jeana!
