Online Shopping

Okay, so someone's comment from an earlier post got me wondering. Do you like to order clothes from online or do you prefer going to the store and trying on everything?

I'm really bad about returning stuff through the mail, so when I buy something online and it doesn't fit, I never end up returning the item. Then it sits in a box next to my door for months, until it's too late to return it and the brand new item goes in the Goodwill box.

I like shopping online- I find a lot more variety in color and size, and I'm more likely to find what I want in-stock.

However, I try to buy from websites with stores I can easily get to. I prefer to do my returns in-person... it's a patience thing. If I need to exchange, I don't want to wait to receive the new item. If it's a refund, I don't want to wait to receive the money.

I love online shopping but only from stores where I know my size so I most likely won't have to return things.

I shop on Forever21.com a lot. I've been to the Forever21 store near me, but it's too overwhelming and hard to find stuff. Online it's more organized and easier for me.

I do a bit of both. I like to buy online because I like getting stuff in the mail and, but I like the instant gratification and confidence of buying in-store. I guess it usually just depends on what I'm looking for.

[QUOTE]I will order clothes if I'm familiar with the brand, shoes I have to try on at least the brand and style before I order. That said, I order A LOT of supplies and stuff online. I started doing that hammered metal jewelry and I found a lot of really good deals online and more variety than Alabama craft stores offer. Plus, when you get an order for a necklace with rodent bones in it, how else am I supposed to get humanely collected bones if there are no owls in the metro?

I sometimes use the store to try things on and make sure I like the product before going online to order it in the color/size or for the price I actually want.

But if I know my size and I am not in a rush to get it, I will go online and purchase it. And then stalk it via tracking numbers and order statuses :)

I don't buy clothing online. I have to try things on. I am always a different size in different designers/brands and I don't shop at stores where I would know I was a certain size. I often shop at Loehmann's, TJ Maxx, or Marshalls, which carry so many different brands that I usually take 2 different sizes of the same dress/shirt/pants/etc into the dressing room!

I do, however, love to shop online for accessories or makeup.

I'm strictly and in-store shopper. I like to know exactly how it will fit and look, and sometimes, for me, the pictures just don't do it justification. I also genuiniely enjoy the shopping experience. It's fun to go out, browse, and all of that. Plus it's a great activity with sisters and girlfriends.

BF, however, HATES to shop. He strictly shops online. I had never met anyone that used Amazon as much as he does!

Yeah, that's how I feel too. I've actually never had a problem with sizing before. If I'm unsure I'll measure myself and see how it lines up. But I only like to buy things that I'm fairly certain will look good on me, since style always worries me more than sizing.

I love online shopping! However, I do only buy from stores where I am certain of the size I will need or stores that have a generous return policy. I've bought stuff from Charlotte Russe that didn't fit and it was very easy to just return it to the closest store.

Online shopping is such a good way to pass the time at work on a slow day. I also like avoiding the crowds in certain stores. Walmart is awful, but if I can buy a toaster oven online from their website without having to deal with crowds, I'll take it! It's nice that some stores include reviews of the products, too. I don't have that luxury when I go into the store and see all of the options to choose from.

I'll buy specialty clothes online that I just can't get elsewhere, like my vintage-inspired dresses. Other than that, I prefer to buy in store. Sometimes things that look cute in the photo or on the hanger look bad on me.

I don't have a problem buying shoes online, since I always buy them from places that let me send 'em back, but I still prefer to look in physical stores first.

I think I might have been the one to make the comment that sparked this thread. While I like looking at things online, I never know how something will look on me until I try it on. I have a slightly odd-shaped body, with long legs, a short torso and am a bit hippy, so I really need to try things on to make sure they'll fit right.

I had never bought shoes online before until I found Zappos.com. They make it super-easy to send things back, so if the shoes don't fit, you get a FULL refund, and shipping is free. I've only bought one pair there, but I will be buying my next ones any day!

I strictly shop in stores, because I'm so tiny. Tops I'm usually an extra small and in pants I'm a size 10 in kids!!!!! So for work clothes I have to try on pants at an adult store and get them majorly tailored. It's quite annoying if only I was a bit taller....

I like to browse online, but I have actually never purchased any clothing from a store online. I'm hard to fit, so even if I know the brand, a certain piece might not fit right or just turn out to be really unflattering. Plus anything that has to ship from the US always has nasty taxes. Strictly in-store for me!

Have you purchased from Victoria Secret? I'm a size 00, and I order all my work clothes from VS. You have to buy from a catalog or online, but I know they fit me perfect. Their pants are made on the smaller side, so you might try?

00 even need tailoring for me. I'll defintely take a look at VS though never thought of them! I went shopping last weekend for bridesmaid dresses for a friends' wedding and they had to order me the same style dress but a junior bridesmaid version in a size 14 girls!

Danser, I feel you! A 00 is sometimes still too big for me, which is exactly why I DON'T shop online. There is 1 store I can buy dress pants at, and pretty much 1 store I can buy jeans at, but even those aren't guaranteed if they're not cut just right.

I defintely understand the your pain beads, glad I'm not the only one out there. I always spend so much on pants b/c of tailoring. Jean I get in the kids department. Shoes are a whole other story I'm a size 4!!!
