Not Engaged Yet

BF agreed...

to do a couples photo shoot! There is a photographer in town that I absolutely love and she is offering this amazing deal on a couples session and BF agreed! I was in shock when he said "sure why not?" He absolutely hates getting pictures taken!

Has anyone else done a couples photo shoot? Do you have a favorite couples, engagement or wedding picture you'd like to share? I'd love to see some!

Here's one of my favorites of me and BF:

It's from Mexico :)

BF and I really want to do one. We are both really into photography and we have about a million pictures  of the two  of us but we would  love to have professional ones done

This is one of my favorite pics of BF and I though. Its from one of our first dates (making smores!)

I had a lot of fun at our engagement session. We did a nice mix of traditional, serious shots and some fun ones. Here's a sample of each:

I'd advise you to wear something you're comfortable in that makes you feel good. Also, pay some attention to the colors you each wear- don't wear things that outright clash. Keep your location in mind when choosing your outfit. Have a couple different options picked out in case the weather is super-cold or super-warm (our weather was SUPER cold) or rainy.

HAVE FUN. Look online for some poses you might like. Brainstorm a bit, but don't be afraid to cut loose and have a good time. That black and white photo is my ultimate favorite because it was the end of the shoot, and the photographer asked "Anything else you guys want to do?" And I said I wanted Josh to give me a piggyback ride down the hill. Most of the shots from that aren't great (a lot of motion and funny expressions), but this one really captured us. We were just having fun.

@Jeana- Awesome, thanks for the advice! I will definitely keep that all in mind. The session will be in March and it is Wyoming, so who knows what the weather will be like. I love both of the photos, the last one is especially cute. The cutest ones are always the most spontaneous ones!

@Beth-Your BF and you are super adorable!! I've been wanting to do one forever too! It only took three years to talk Bf into it! Maybe you'll have better luck and get it done sooner :)

@Bren- I love your sig picture too, I think you're amazingly pretty!  Color me jealous.

The closest thing we've had to a photo shoot is my family's holiday pictures that we get done at Walmart each year. So I'm no help there. lol Sounds like it will be super fun though!! :)

This is my absolute favorite picture of us. It's from 2005, about two months after we started dating. My BFF (before we were really all that close) snapped the picture during a school concert trip to NYC:

I can't wait to take engagement pictures!  We're waiting until the summer so FI can finish his semester and I can lose weight, but it'll be nice to have some professional pics of the two of us.

I don't know if I have a current favorite, but here's one I like because of the expression on his face (to my knowledge, he was not stoned):

We are toying with the idea of getting a "family portrait" done when/if his kids come here this summer.  It was actually all BF's idea.  We are building a house and he goes "I think we should get pictures done, us and the kids, and put them on the fireplace.  We'll get all of us in the middle then one of each kid on the sides."  It about made me cry since he's included me in his kiddos lives since we got serious.  If for some reason his ex doesn't let them come here (she's in NC we're in MD), I might get my cousin do the pics for us.  Photography is her hobby.

BF and I did go to JCP one time when they had a big sale and got some pics. They came out really nice and we gave both parents a framed copy for Christmas that year. I don't have it here though, so here's one of us in Riviera Maya 2 years ago that I really like:

    deburnin, what a cute picture!

We had engagement pictures taken when we were first engaged a few years ago, and those turned out super nice. Here's my favorite one from the shoot. Also see siggy.

My Mom is a photographer, and very snap-happy.  So, I look like I get professional pictures WAY too often.

Darn... I thought I had it on this flash drive, but I don't.  There's one of me and BF with a crazy Easter backdrop.  We look pretty creepy.

Bottom line, we get pro pics all the time, no one thinks anything of it.  Go for it.

Someday, you kids will have something like this to look back on:

Aww, definitely go for it!  It would be pulling teeth to get my BF to take pictures.  He's already agreed to do engagement photos, and to try to smile for our wedding photos - apparently his father told him a groom's only job is to keep his bride happy.  While that's not getting him out of helping plan the wedding, it's a nice thought that I can get on board with, especially if it means he'll try to look good in pictures!

This one's okay - he's sort of smiling (it's the best I have on this computer anyway!):

ETA:  I'm now home and can add some good ones:

My all time favorite pic of us - before we started dating!  This was during a "bar golf" outing with our kickball team.  We were best friends, but not dating yet.

Aw!  I love all of these pictures!  We have never had any professional pictures taken, but here are my two favorites (they're pretty old, though).

Both taken in Germany.  Ah, we look so young.  Smile

Danish man doesn't do well with pictures, he has these funny faces when you ask him to smile in a picture.  He needs a more natural moment where he already is in a happy thought pattern.  He doesn't do poses and traditional pictures well, needs more a natural poses approach, but here is a pic that I like because I always told him he was the devil in disguise and so for one night his horns came out.  Plus I got to wear my corset one last time.

Our engagement shoot is later in May or so can't wait!

I actually took this one by holding my arm out, and it's one of my very favorite pics of us. The light was just right, and I managed to get a little of the waterfall in the background!

My BF always seems to blink when we have pics taken.  A year ago Christmas we had professional pictures taken with him, me and my daughter.  Out of about 100 pictures taken I had a choice of about 10 good shots where the three of us were all looking and had our eyes open!   lol.  Poor thing ended up leaving the session with a migraine from all of the flashing light :-(  Needless to say, when we get married, I'm going to try to find a photographer that doesn't need to use bright flashes, and perhaps use a well lit area for our pictures.
Alright already we'll all float on. Alright already we'll all float on. Alright don't worry even if things end up a bit too heavy. We'll all float on...alright. Already we'll all float on. Alright already we'll all float on, ok. Don't worry we'll all float on. Even if things get heavy, we'll all float on.
