Accountability

We are just over a month into 2011. If you made a new years resolution, how are you doing?

For me, my eating healthy and exercising resolution has not been going very well. However, I've been keeping to my budget, so my other resolution is still pretty intact.

Mind you I want to try and get the healthy eating and exercise one back on track.

I made a loose resolution to exercise more and eat better. Then school started. So much for that. I have generally been eating well up until this week when I've been too busy to cook proper meals.

Hazel, I had the same resolutions...and actually i've made about the same progress as well. Budget - going great; healthy eating and exercise - not so much. I will say though, it's hard to get motivated to exercise and eat right when the weather is so nasty...but I'm going to stop making excuses and get my butt back on track!

    I'm not exercising.

BF and I did some healthy grocery shopping this week, so I'm doing to be eating a lot better.  If we can avoid eating out and much as we have, I'll jump start some weight loss.

Allusive, I know exactly how you feel. I'm sick of being lazy about exercising. The eating well hasn't been too bad though, well up to BF requesting homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.  Can those ever be considered a meal?

The way I see it is, if the freaking Governor shuts down the state offices and churches, schools and businesses aren't open, I don't need to get my happy butt out in this nonsense.
However, I do have a wii with a couple of exercise games on it and a few dvd's that I could break out, did I? Well, no, because I checked out Gone With The Wind and The Phantom Of The Opera from the library as well as the first two books from the Hunger Games books, which I have yet to start.
Add in that I came down with a HORRIBLE cold/illness/something or another I didn't even work on Monday.
So I downloaded a Jilian Michaels app for my phone which I have yet to open, as well as a couch to 5K app that I used this summer when I could actually jog outside, but I think it hasn't been looked at since June-ish.  So accountability there is null.
I do have the Lose It app tho and it is nice because it sends "push" messages to my phone and email updates as well so it's helped me be accountable for what I've eaten and when I haven't worked out.  I highly recommend it! I really had no idea how much "brainless" munching I was doing.
Being sick however has helped me drop a few pounds because my throat was so sore I couldn't swallow so I didn't really eat for 3 ish days, which is SOOO not safe, and I know this, I just couldn't swallow, everything felt like glass shards...ick.

I'm doing pretty well.  Here's my list:

    1) More sexy time - CHECK!
    2) Eat healthier/exercise - Check! Lost 3 lbs in Jan.
    3) Save $6-10K towards house - We have $4.3K

    Basically, I'm owning it.  =P

Wow, Paige, that's awesome that you've saved so much!  You'll have a house before you know it!

I haven't really bitten my nails in a week since I got a manicure... need to get another soon!

I need to run more... my half marathon is only 3 weeks away!  Yipes!

I lost 5 pounds in January, so that's good.

Not doing so hot on the saving money bit.  I keep wanting to spend my the bonus I'll get from my February event on a getaway with BF instead of putting it in savings like a good girl.

I'm doing well with the diet but I do need to get to the gym more. For some reason I have so much less motivation to exercise during the winter.

I've been doing REALLY well with the gym, definitely mixing things up and trying new things and going every week a few times.

Eating well has been sliding... but I'm still doing BETTER so that's something. And I'm still working on it.

I bit my nails off this weekend :/ I was doing so well! So I'm just going to try again.

I haven't been keeping up with P90X.  I allowed one of my friends to move into my completely unused second bedroom, and right now his crap is all over the living room.  So my usual workout space is unavailable.

I have been running and biking more, though.  Still, I haven't lost any weight since before the new year.  I'm frustrated.  I'm just going to have to cut calories more.

Paige - That is amazing! Keep up the good work!
    Cate - see below
Bren - we've all been there... just start again right now and maybe buy yourself a new emory board and leave it somewhere easy to get ahold of.

Eating - I've been doing well with my 80/20 rule. It's been easier to think about the amount of time I have to work out if I eat something (i.e. french fries = 2 hr work out. Coke = 1hr work out).

Working out - it's going well because I am doing a group fitness class with 4 of my co-workers. We go MWF at 12:30 for an hour. I've lost 3 lbs in about a week and a half. I'm also running 2-3 times per week on top of that to get ready for a race at the end of this month.

Nails - it wasn't a resolution but Cate inspired me to work on my nails. I haven't bitten them since I got my manicure a week and a half ago. I even took off the old polish and re-painted them this weekend. My motivation is that when BF puts that ring on my finger, I don't have to crop the pictures to hide my crappy nails!

I'm still on my diet. This is the longest I have ever made it on a diet so I'm pretty proud.

Well, I haven't been exercising and have only slightly improved my eating habits, so that's something I need to work on.

BUT... I haven't bitten my nails in 3 weeks!  I have bitten my nails since I could chew, so I know this is going to be a tough habit to kick for good.  I've got regular manicures every week (sometimes even more than that!)  So far, so good.  I'm also having a lot of fun with different colors of nail polish!  Right now I'm wearing Essie Chinchilly.
