Tuesday!

Good morning, ladies!

It's Tuesday! Only three more days until the weekend! :) What's everyone up to today?

I had my first "big girl" job interview at a non-profit organizatoin for a case manager position. I would get a referral from DHS with goals to achieve with my assigned family in order for the parents to keep the children in their custody. The goals  may be to baby-proof their home, make sure the children have constant food supply coming in, make sure they are clothed and bathed, etc. It's something I would really love to do. They said I should hear something by Friday. I'm really optimistic! My best friend works there too (they don't know that) so it would be wonderful to work there with her.

Tonight, BF and I are trying to get tickets to the Thunder vs. Heat game. He said he would buy them if they got under $250 each. I would personally rather put $500 towards vacation...but it's his money, so I can't complain. :) If we don't go, then it'll be a "Teen Mom" and Real Housewives of OC night for me. Woohoo!

What's going on in your world? Elle-when is your honeymoon? Or are you already on it?

Re: Tuesday!

  • Yay for the interview Jordan! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. It sounds like an amazing opportunity.

I am debating about flying back to MD this week/weekend for my 10-year high school reunion and to see my mom. I can get a free ticket with my miles on Frontier, so that would be nice. My mom really wants to take me wedding dress shopping...so that would be fun. I have to talk with my boss when she gets in about taking the time off, but i'm sure she'd approve it.

Anyone been to their HS or college reunion? I haven't seen most of these people since the day we all graduates...so I'm curious if it will be fun or a big 'ol flop. Guess you never know till you get there!

  • I must be cheap, because I really can't imagine spending $500 dollars to go to a game.  A vacation sounds so much better!

My Tuesday is off to a slow start.  I was exhausted all day Monday and sore from lifting on Sunday.  I still managed to go for a run, but it was hot and so humid.  I felt like I was going to collapse when I got home.  I got into bed at 8:30 to read and fell asleep around 9.  It felt so nice to get 9 hours of sleep last night.  So now I'm sore, but at least I'm awake.

  • Good morning!

Jordan, I'd totally rather spend that money on a vacation, too, but I'm sure the game would be really fun if you do get tickets.

Allusive, I've only been graduated from HS for eight years (as of yesterday, actually), and college for three. We organized an impromptu bar crawl for our 5 year HS "reunion". It was fun...it's nice to see some people, have some drinks, and GTFO. I just went to "Alumni Weekend" at my alma mater, and it was a blast, but that was more about getting hammered and pretending to be a college student with my BFFs from college (who I still see often anyway) than it was catching up with people I hadn't seen since graduation.

Heather, doesn't nine hours of sleep feel so amazing? I'm one of those people who can sleep for like 12 hours without blinking, though, haha.

BF is debating going to his at the end of the month too. Like you, he doesn't know if it is going to be a flop or a good time. YAY for Frontier miles! OKC to DEN has cheap flights (88 both ways) for the weekend he would need to go. We just went three weeks ago to see his high school/college buddies, so maybe he could at least see them again if nothing else. :)

    I hope you go!

  • Good luck with the job interview Jordan!  I hope it works out, keep us posted!

I would rather spend the money on a vacation too.  I could really use a few days away from work.

I've never been to any high school or college reunion.  The people I wanted to keep in touch with I have.  My college was huge anyway and so was my high school.

  • Yay for the interview!  I'm working from home today so...I'm curled up in bed with the pup haha.  Jordan, DH is going on a work trip soon and then another next month so I'm trying to decide what trashy shows I want to watch marathon-style while he is away.  Teen Mom sounds good! :)

I watch that as well, it seems to just keep getting worse and worse, but in that enjoyable sort of way.  I missed some of the episodes in April but  I'm not too concerned.

I caught up with it last night. It's like a trainwreck I just can't look away from. I also need to catch up on the last couple weeks of the bachelorette.

Today I am going to start running. Whenever I try to lose weight I do really good with the diet but not so good with the exercise but I want to change that this time around.

Tomorrow I start my first big girl job! I'm super excited! I'll probably go shopping this afternoon for a cute outfit :)

  • Beth, good luck with the running!  I can't wait until I'm better so I can start again.  I feel like I get the most and feel the best from running.  Happy big girl job!!!!

Thanks :) I used to run track in high school and I kind of just let it fall away. I always feel better about my body after I run though.

  • Allusive, we are going to H's 10 year reunion in October.  I think it will be fun for him because he grew up in a small town and he actually knew most people in his class.  He hasn't kept in touch with many people aside from being FB friends, so I think he'll enjoy actually talking to some people.

Beth, good luck with running!  I used to hate it, but then we signed up for a charity run, so I started training a bit and I was surprised to find that it was something I kind of liked doing.  I still can't run very far, but I like pushing myself.

I just started back on Insanity yesterday and I forgot how much it kicks my ass.  I did it for about 3 weeks last time (and then I stopped to train for the run I mentioned) and never got back into it.  We don't have anything else coming up for the next 2 months, so hopefully I can stick with it better this time!

  • Good luck! Wow we have 3 Jordans now haha.

H and I are going up to our camp for the weekend with his side of the family. I love going up there and escaping technology. It's in the mountains so we'll probably do lots of hiking or biking. There is a really old tavern a few miles away that we like as well. SIL and I were pretty smashed last time we went up. The drinks are like 2 dollars haha.

Yay happy big girl job!  The show is just awful, I blame the writers, who comes up with this stuff and things it is any good.  I watch it for the train wreck factor.
