Picking up something special today!

We're going to pick up the ring today but BF still wants to talk to my dad and do an official proposal.  No idea when that will happen so I'm keeping my patience pants on for now!  Anyway, would you girls like pictures of the sparkles later today or should I wait to post them when he actually proposes?

I wanna know about the engagement pony too! Right now my bf keeps joking that he has this crazy Disney proposal planned complete with dolphins and ponies and Goofy. I hope he's actually joking. But if there were like a non cheezy proposal involving a pony, I wanna know, so I can let my bf know...

Alright ladies, ring is home with us and it is GORGEOUS!!!  I'm so happy with it and so happy we ended up going with the family jeweler.  After reading the posts, I WILL wait to post pictures until it's on my hand and we're actually engaged. 

Two additional notes:
- We talked about how to mount it - up high or down low - in the setting.  We weren't sure so he mounted it kind of medium so that we'd have the option to change it if we want.  I kind of want it a little bit further down but am waiting to make a final decision.  Maybe you all can help me decide once you see the pics . . . later!
- We've been doing an advent calendar this month.  It's wooden and has little boxes.  I fill the even days and BF opens those.  He fills the odd days and I open those.  Since the boxes are so small and sometimes the gifts are a little bigger, we put notes in the boxes with a clue to the gift and then put the gift in a gift bag I attached to the advent calendar.  Mostly it's been stuff like socks, boxers or candy for him.  For me he's gotten candy, a Santa decoration to go on our mantle - stuff like that.  Tonight when I got home I opened my box for today, the 11th.  Inside was a note that referred me to the bag.  I opened that up and there was a metal hand that we had seen at Cost Plus that's kind of a Buddhist design.  ANYWAY, the note also said, "Soon enough I will ask for yours."  I mean - how adorable is that!?!?!  I love that he wants to officially ask my dad for my hand.  It's old fashioned and, at least in my opinion, super romantic.  I'm such a lucky girl!!  (And, for the record, he's a very lucky man!!)

This is adorable, I love it!  I am totally a fan of the romanticism in asking Dad (for permission or blessing), and then the GF.  Sounds like you are both very lucky!
