As some of you may have read in the confessions thread from Friday I was thinking that BF was up to something and might be proposing...
Well, I was right. He proposed Friday night after we got to the river to camp for the weekend! Ah, we're engaged!
We got out of the truck and were unloading our stuff and he was kind of fiddling around. I was ready to start relaxing so I was grabbing a couple beers for us and he stopped me and said "hug me" so I did and gave him a little peck then went back to grabbing beers. He grabbed me again and said "kiss me babe" so I kissed him and he said "I love you" and I said I know babe I love you too, "no I really love you, babe, like a lot". He was grabbing for my right hand so I put that beer down then he grabbed my hand and was shaking like a leaf... I said babe you're shaking and he dropped to his knee with the ring and said "will you marry me and make me the happiest man in the world?" At this point I put the other beer down and grabbed his face and kissed him and said "OF COURSE". He stood up and we hugged and kissed and I put the ring on.
He was sneaky and led me to believe that his money was a lot tighter than it was apparently. I told him that I didn't even need a ring or an expensive one if he wanted to do a ring then I'd gladly take a gemstone or moissanite because it's what the ring symbolises not the monetary value that matters. Well, he got a beautiful 3 stone diamond in white gold ring... it's awesome and I love it!
I looked for a stock pic from the jeweler but its a smaller local jeweler with only 2 locations and they didn't have a pic online. I'll PIP when I get a chance.
Later he told me that he was originally planning to wait till sunset and propose at the dock and ask someone to take pictures for us, but he just couldn't wait any longer. He said it was really hard for him to not propose before we left the house!
So, it's official we're getting married!
