What size paper lanterns to line aisle

I'm planning on hanging paper lanterns on each chair down the aisle as my aisle decor..along with some petals on either side on the ground. My question is what size paper lanterns should I buy? I'm attaching ribbon to each one and hanging them to the aisle chairs. Thanks for your help!!

It would depend on how much "wow" you want. I'd assume 3-4 inches would be a good size. Anything bigger would probably be a bit too ornate.

We are using 8" lanterns, but on every other row, like:
