Are you moving today, by chance?? (Twiddles thumbs) Love the garter! Pretty colors.

Sorry - it's not like I don't have work to do. It's that the work is kinda boring so I'm stalling. Just can't get started.

Paint - Great idea, I want to see some DIY too. I only do regular DIY these days, so I can't contribute anything WR.

Where's Angie? She always has something.

No WR DIY here (obviously). I have boatloads of non-WR DIY around the apartment though. I paint, sew, and make jewelry; BF is a hobby photographer. Most of our apartment has some kind of DIY touch. The one and only reason I sort of want a wedding some day is so I can make stuff for it (I mean, I want to be married, but that can be accomplished without the big party).

I WISH I was moving today.  Although I'm no where near packed.  Not actually moving til Feb 19.

    Wanna come help?

I've been working on my favors and BM gift bags, but none of it is finished yet...soon.  I'm going to satisfy my baby fever today and babysit for one of my BM's - she has a 10 month old of her own and a 2 month old foster baby - I'll be in heaven, but won't get to work on any projects today.  I'll post them as soon as they're done.

Any DIY welcome! :) Guess I shouldn't have said WR - just brag on anything you've done!

Beads - I hear you. I kinda want a wedding just to plan stuff and give my mom a heart attack with our music choices.

Paige - I'd come help you but I'm 'sposed to be in Vegas that week. Blah. Work, not play.

Angie - Cool that your BM fosters! CRAZY that she has two babies under 1 year! :) But she must be a very giving person. I have a ton of respect for foster parents.

Not WR obviously, but I made a tutu to wear during my race!  I don't have a picture of the one I did, but here's the example I used:

Mine's purple (darker purple) with sparkly fabric along with the tulle, and it's shorter so it doesn't get between my legs while I'm running.  It's going to be fantastically hilarious!

Aw, I don't have very fun DIY compared to tutus and garters. I'm currently working at redecorating our office/spare bedroom. The previous owners had painted it teal, for a nursery I think. So that is what I'm in the midst of.

Also, I have a stack of material to make Christmas bags. We are trying to minimise our wrapping paper usage during the holidays.

Which race are you doing Cate?
  • edited December 2011
Cate, I love it! It's super cute. FI and I decided last night that in the summer we're going to run a race together. That way we'll have some goal in mind, and so I think we'll feel more motivated to work out more. I'm thinking we'll probably just do a 5k at first, then maybe the following summer something longer. Last night I did a hip-hop hustle class, which is just like Zumba, except to rap music (and more butt shakin'), and it was a blast.

    Yay on the tutu Cate!

I've been in a jewelery making mood lately. My step-mom gave me some more stones this past weekend to work with. I don't have any pictures on me, but I have mostly been doing wire wrapping. Although today, I found out about some silver clay so I may try that next.
Which race are you doing Cate?
    Posted by paintgirl
Disney Princess Half Marathon!  I'm super excited!  The race is 95% women, and it's not an overly competitive race - there's Disney characters all along the way to stop and take pictures with them if you want, and most runners wear some sort of costume.  I fear chaffing, so I'm just wearing the tutu outside my running pants.

Though I'm currently taking a brief break from training since I had a pain in my foot most of last week, so the doctor suggested I have an XRay to rule out a stress fracture before I continue pounding on the darn thing every day.

I've raised $1800 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of my friend, which I'm really happy about, too.  It's going to be an absolutely amazing moment when I cross that finish line - I think it'll bring a lot of closure for me (heck, the whole process has brought closure).

I'll be sure to AW when I finish the race!  BF has joked a few times about being at the other side of the finish line with the ring to encourage me to run faster, and while I think he's semi-serious, we both want a private proposal so I'm quite sure it won't be then.  But the idea might motivate me just a little bit during the race! Ya know, just in case!

Cate- I completely forgot about that! FSIL and I were going to train for it but procrastination/laziness got the best of us :( Plus I'm having foot surgery on the 17th so now I'm completely out. Double :(

That tutu is freaking adorable. Be sure to take lots of pics so I can live vicariously through you.

Cate - Finishing my first half was the coolest moment of my life - definitely my biggest accomplishment ever. My bf says he'll propose after I run Chicago (doing the full marathon in October) because I'll be too tired to run away screaming "No!" :)

Have fun! It's awesome. Good job raising so much money too!

I feel like I'm too far out to do any DIY stuff for the wedding yet, but I've been collecting ideas.

So far I plan to DIY the card box, tissue paper pomanders, centerpieces (not really DIY, just assembly), escort cards, bathroom baskets, and sash for my dress (I really hate the one that came with it).  I just don't know a good time to get started on it all...I don't want to wait till the last minute and stress myself out, but then I don't want to do it now, then change my mind and redo it when it gets closer...ugh.

I'm with Jem. Just plans for DIY so far.

But oh my gosh, we went to Paper Source on Sunday because we walked by one, and that place is freaking amazing! I found a pearl white metallic cardstock that I want to use for invitations. They also had some cool stuff for DIY placecards.  We'll see how motivated I am.
