Clueless about dances!

Hello,

I know for a fact that when my boy and I marry that our first dance will be to, "You'll Be in My Heart," from Disney's "Tarzan." However, I am clueless as to what dance we should do to this particular song!

Any ideas?

Thanks! <3

Re: Clueless about dances!

  • Do you really need a choreographed dance? Can't you just grab on to one another and dance like you would during any other occasion? Say you were at a friend's wedding and that song came on, how would you dance? I say go with that. I'm not a fan of big, flashy, over the top first dances... seems fake to me.
    Praying for a miracle!
  • I would like to have a choreographed dance for our ceremony, and he is willing to learn for a couple of reasons. The practice would be a good way to stay active, it is a different way to be active, and it is a way for us to be even closer than we already are by diving into brand new territory. :)

And as for the rumba... Wow! It is so sensual, and lovely!
  • If you are anywhere near Pasadea, I highly recommend PasadenaBallroomDance.com for lessons.  Both Erin and Tammy are excellent teachers who put the emphasis on learning the basics and having fun.  Dancing is really good exercise, and it's fun.  If you have some time before your wedding, sign up for the group ballroom dance lessons where you'll learn waltz, foxtrot and rumba.  Learning how to dance doesn't mean you need a choreographed dance -- it just gives you a foundation and builds confidence.
  • Thanks, Peavy! I'm actually in South Pasadena, so that is a very short drive and doable trip. I will look into this one! :)
  • You'll have fun - enjoy.
