Happy Hump Day!!

Let's celebrate it *almost* being the back half of the week by another quick and painless thread game.

Name something that makes you smile (can be BF/FI/FBD related or not)

Mine is cinnamon raisin toast.

Oooh, Lindsay I might try that one!  I made chili last night and it was delish.  Looking forward to leftovers for lunch!

Last night, when BF was reading before bed, he asked me to come cuddle with him (we sleep in different rooms during the week, and he goes to bed much earlier than me).  And he rubbed my shoulders and arm absentmindedly while he read his book, and kissed my forehead, and smoothed my hair back.  It was so affectionate and sweet, and it made my day and melted all the stress away from me.

I sort of make do as I go with my chili... I sautee some onions and garlic, then add lean ground beef.  Some salt, pepper, oregano, garlic powder, cumin, cayenne, and Mexican Chili Powder.  Then I put it in the crock pot with a few cans of diced tomatoes, then I drain a can of corn with whatever kinds of beans I feel like (usually 2-3 cans - Great Northern White are good, as are Red Kidney... not a fan of Garbanzo as they fall apart) and add those to the mix.  Add some more of the above spices, a little bit of beer if I have it, and let it simmer overnight or through the day.  It's delish!

    Awesome.

    What made me smile yesterday:
I got cut off turning into a service road from a main road.  But it's ok, b/c the driver was an old lady, (think cottonball head). smoking one of those LONG cigs, and driving a Yukon XL.  I know what I want to be when I grow up.

Baking. I love to bake and it can always make me smile to look at recipes and then see my finished product.

Yesterday my moissanite stone finally came in and my BF showed it to me (like I said before, he has a really hard time not telling me stuff). We looked at it under the light and in the sun. It is so pretty :) It was interesting to just have a loose stone in your hands!

that is so exciting!!  my ring is in my dad's safe right now.  it's a family heirloom ring.  i used to take it out and wear it around the house every so often just to see the sparkle.  but since it's getting close to proposal time, i am forcing myself not to check and see if it's there.  don't want to ruin anything.

and i love to bake.  and cook.  but especially bake.  if you have any recipes that are just outstanding, pleeeeease share them!!

My nephew. He is adorable! At the wedding he kept asking the guests if they wanted to meet the bride. He was so excited to be in the wedding. When my brother brought him to get fitted for the tux he wanted to leave with the tux coat on and thought my wedding was that night. Then after the wedding he was very excited to bring home the ring bearer pillow. He danced the night away at the reception. He is just too cute for words. And last item about this little guy - last summer when they were in town he randomly goes to me - Heather you look very beauty-full. Oh I just melted. Oh what the hell I'll add a pic.

Haha yeah I am going to try very hard to to peek around the apartment to see if the stone is gone.

It is so hard to think of a recipie off the top of my head! I love Tast of Home Comfort Diet Cookbook. They always have really awesome desserts with chalf the fat. I think I might make some cookies from in there Thursday, so if I do did I will PIP and post the recipie.

He ordered it on the 12th so it was on quite an adventure. It got shipped back to the sender twice so finally BF had to put my name on it so I could pick it up. When the stone is set and he proposes I will definitly PIP that too. I think the stone looked great yesterday. I didn't see the yellow tint but maybe I will notice it when it is set.

    Little things make me smile...

When FI calls me, somehow my dog just knows it's him, she comes running from wherever she is in the house and runs around in circles until I answer the phone - but only when he calls.

My Sunday School class (2 & 3 year olds) - I do the same routine each week where I pretend I don't know where the crayons are - the kids make me dance or funny walk over to the cabinet they're in and tell me how to turn around and open the door to get them out - I make this exaggerated shocked face when I find the crayons - the kids crack up laughing...no matter what mood I'm in, I can't help but smile.
