Groundhog Day

Happy Groundhog Day, everyone! According to Punxsatawney Phil, we're in for an early Spring:

http://www.groundhog.org/

Yay!! Of course, here in Minnesota, I'm sure "Spring" will be relative. Smile

Also, I just saw that the movie is on instant play on Netflix. Yesss.

Anyone else enjoying that it's February 2nd? What's your favorite part of the day so far?

I can't wait for spring and summer. Cold weather is one of my least favorite things. I also think groundhogs are cute.

Random Groundhog Day story: My best friend is from Mexico and did not know what Groundhog Day was until she was 17. One day during senior year of high school I made a silly comment about Groundhog Day being the best holiday ever. This was before we were really friends. She thought I was being completely serious and thought I was very strange. Several years later BF and I had our first kiss on Groundhog Day. I had a crush on him for nearly two years at that point. After it happened, I texted her and told her I was completely right for saying Groundhog Day was the best holiday ever. We still joke about it to this day.

Edited because I apparently thought it was Groundhog's Day and not Groundhog Day.

Sorry Marley, but my day isn't going so well. Woke up this morning with a splitting headache cause my head is all stuffed up with allergies. Then the power on my entire street went out which made getting ready, out of my gated apartments, and the drive to work interesting. I kinda feel ripped off cause I don't even get any snow to go with the power outages.

The only good thing is that I got my tax return in today. Although, all of it went to student loans so I don't get to do anything fun with it.

Aww! Sorry to hear it, niknik. You and my BF can start a club, though. He's all out of it today, sneezing, congested, not having a good day, and his tax return has to go to doctor bills. :( Our power is fine, though, so you win the Stupid Day Contest so far!

Thanks, although as the day goes on it is slowly getting better. My BF's sister-in-law and her parents own a resteraunt here in town and Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives from Food Network is there now. Yay for them! Its there second Food Network show I think.

I'm so glad we're in for an early spring!  Being from Upstate Ny, it's definitely welcomed!!!  I have the day off today thanks to the monster storm (took the day off ahead of time) and spending the day with my little one one also had a snow day.  I just finished left over chinese food for lunch and I'm watching Eat Pray Love on ppv
    :-)  Life is good...

Alright already we'll all float on. Alright already we'll all float on. Alright don't worry even if things end up a bit too heavy. We'll all float on...alright. Already we'll all float on. Alright already we'll all float on, ok. Don't worry we'll all float on. Even if things get heavy, we'll all float on.

Awesome! BF's parents took us to dinner at a place that was on that show. It was delish. Food Network rules. My aunt and uncle won a kitchen makeover contest from them a few years ago. :)

Niknik--aww, bummer about no kitchen. Hey: that's less cleanup to do, though.

Bourge--yeah, it was pretty exciting. :) Alton Brown came to their house and everything. :)
