Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

Ceremony Music

I was wondering if anyone out there has had their DJ do the ceremony music? That is what we have planned now for our outdoor wedding. He only charged us 150 extra. However, I want it to sound nice and am wondering if it's worth it to spend the extra 200-300 dolaars for a trio or quartet. Any experiences shared would be helpful.

Re: Ceremony Music

  • My best friend had their DJ play the ceremony music for their wedding. It was very nice and they did a great job of controlling the volume so everyone could hear.
  • We had our DJ do our outdoor ceremony music and I loved it. As others have said, it's good to have someone to be able to control the volume (for example our wedding day was very windy---live musicians couldn't just "turn up the volume"). They also can probably provide the microphone for your officiant.

Unlimited songs, no worries about crappy performances.

$150 is a great price. Ours was $300, which I thought was a good price at the time but apparently not haha.

  • I have seen many friends weddings where the DJ plays the ceremony music.....usually a pretty classical version of songs.
