Look Out New Orleans - Here Come The Jeets!

First of all, FI's nick name is The Jeet, so we now call ourselves "The Jeets".

Anyways, things have gotten a bit stressful here this week.  More issues with FFIL, our living situation, and of course my lack of finding a job.  We're very seriously talking about moving back to Missouri.  But! What this post is REALLY about is that FI just called and said "Hey, we should go to New Orleans this weekend".  My response "If you're serious, then I'm booking reservations right now!".  Well, he was in fact serious, so we're spending this weekend in New Orleans!!  I haven't been (and it's only 2 hours from us) and we both think we really need some quality time away and ALONE - without FFIL and that bunch bothering us. 

I'm so looking forward to it...  Anyone else have any big plans for the weekend?  I've been MIA for a day or so, so I guess I need to backtrack and be sure I didn't miss anything too serious.

Brian got a job offer yesterday!! You can understand how much rejoicing there is going on over here about that! He's been pretty miserable at his current job.

Oh, I almost forgot!  I had an interview this morning... it was SO scary that I didn't even go in.  It was advertised as a medium sized dealership.  Uh, it was pretty much a wreckage yard and had two huge black scary guard dogs tied up in back.  No thank you!  So, to cheer myself up, I went to IHop for pancakes and then went and got a sweet new hair cut!  I kinda forgot that I was growing my hair out for the wedding and she totally chopped it off.  Its okay - it looks really cute and I'm happy with it.  My hair was long straight and boring, now it's short, thicker, and more fun.  Isn't it amazing what a great hair cut can do?

Awww Jeter that's great I hope you guys have an amazing time , yay for quality time together !! This weekend is work , but getting off before 7pm on Friday and Saturday - which is unheard of so really looking forward to just being with FI and I am OFF sunday woo fianlly! Only thing we may do is finalize our registeries and send out follow up emails regarding wedding info.

Take lots of pics !! I wanna see the new haircut too !

tafft -  Sorry this weekend = work for you... But, at least you get off "early" as you put it.  Hope it's not too terrible!!

Mut - Are you actually painting or is someone doing it for you?  I don't think you're supposed to be breathing those toxins in while pregnant!!


kat - I seen your post with your kitchen paint color - love it and can't wait to see pics!!

Thank you for your concern!
It is safe to paint with latex paint, but not oil-based when pregnant.  My OB even cleared it.  However, we are still using low-VOC paint and I am wearing one of these:

I am also covering up head to toe, when I would normally wear a tank, shorts and go shoeless.

I am staying out completely during the demolition of the bathrooms.  DH and his friends are tackling that part.  I am also staying out when DH sprays primer all over the entire house.  I will be working on outside projects during those times.

Kat! I have no idea how I missed this, but congrats to Brian! That's so exciting! You two deserve sparkling apple cider tonight! When does he start and hows the CFA going?

Hetshup - thanks!! I'm really happy for him!

The CFA... ughhhh. Well, let's put it this way, he would probably be passing if it wasn't for his current job. When he signed up to take it way back when, he was working in a different dept. Since then he was transferred to a new team and he's basically working from 7AM-7PM daily with no lunch and he has a 2hr commute (Yay Boston... and it's driving, not even on the train for 2 hours) (hence the new job) so his studying time really took a hit.

Who knows! He is a smart guy. The plus side is, new job will pay for it so pass or fail, we won't have to pay for it again, and he already has to 2010 set of books.

We will see. He's feeling aloof about it now (he feels like he's already a goner bc of not being able to study enough these last few months) but I'm secretly hoping that since he's so relaxed he'll pass magically.

We've already dedicated a room as his "study room" in our new place. Poor guy still has the CFA and grad school to go through.

Button - If it weren't me, I think I'd be jealous too.  I'm sure we'll have a blast!!  We've agreed that we're going to let all the stress and issues go and not even talk about any of it this weekend - just enjoy the weekend together.  Ahh, can't wait!

Oh, a weekend getaway is a TERRIFIC idea for you two!! Quite excited for ya. Hope you have a blast! And hairstyle change is always a great lift. Cutting's not an option for me, but perhaps this weekend I will go get that new colour I've been thinking about for months...
