Have any of you ever determined your Personality Type? BF and I just did tests online, and in reading the breakdown of the types it seems disturbingly accurate...

My FI actually did a big research project on Myers-Briggs personalities a few years ago, so I've been tested several times.

Every test I take tells me I'm INFP, and the description seems spot-on.  What was yours, Sop?

I'm an INTJ in that I like to be objective and critical in decision making, but I do also have strong F tendencies in that I'm very good at reading and understanding other people and feelings.

I got ISFJ, and it was so spot on I felt like it was written about me specifically. BF got INTJ, which was also very accurate.

I think it's interesting that we're apparently all introverts. I wonder if there's a correlation between introversion and internet life. Hmmmm. That would make sense, I think.

Funny thing is I don't really think of myself as an introvert.  I am really friendly and love to do things but then at time I just want to be with BF too.  So who knows!

Ray - I've always known that I'm a classic introvert, but a lot of others seem surprised by their results in that category.

The way FI explains it, intro- vs. extraversion is not just about whether you enjoy the company others.  It's about what energizes you.  Introverts may enjoy social interaction just as much as any extrovert, but over time they'll become exhausted and need alone time to "recharge".  Extroverts, on the other hand, are worn out by time alone and need the company of others to re-energize.

Yup, people told me all my life I was an extrovert, but I know I've always needed and enjoyed a lot of alone time.

I really like the way your FI describes the intro/extrovert portion. Once I heard it put that way, my results made even more sense.

I think it's funny that by the results of BF and my tests, we probably shouldn't be able to maintain a romantic relationship, yet we've been together for over 10 years. We both absolutely match our descriptions too.

I was INTJ back in college (we had to take the test for our Orientation class), but as of last year, it changed to ISFP. Guess I changed a bit, because as I recall, both seemed scarily accurate at the time.

I'm an ENTJ, and I was totally surprised by it. I don't consider myself a leader, usually, but reading the descriptions I looked up for an ENTJ, it was more accurate than I thought it would be.

I did a whole research project about this test. I'm at INFJ. Apparently only like 1% of the population has this type. You think that's true?

I'm ESTJ - which is exactly the same as what I got back in 2003 when I did the Meyers-Briggs!!  Guess my personality hasn't changed much!!  When I did it back then, it was for my commissioning class.  Out of 20-ish people, about half of us were going on to be pilots (like myself).  I remember most of us were ESTJ; there was only one introvert and a couple people varied in the S-T-J parts but we were all pretty consistent.  I just find that interesting . . . I suppose certain personality types really ARE drawn to certain career fields!!
