NWR Read anything good?

I'm always reading something, about to finish a book, and at a loss for what to pick up next. If anyone has read any good books lately I could use some suggestions. Thanks!

Re: NWR Read anything good?

• Not sure what type of books you like but I'm always reading during my commute to work and I've read a few good ones lately...
Bossypants - Tina Fey
The Help - Kathryn Stockett
Is Everyone Hanging Out without Me? - Mindy Kaling
Room - Emma Donoghue
any of Emily Giffin's books (Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Love the One You're With, etc.)

And I'm reading State of Wonder by Ann Patchett right now. I'm only about 50 pages in and so far so good.

Good luck and happy reading :)

Love anything Emily Giffin, here books are amazing and a new one is coming out soon!

I also just read the entire Hunger Games series in like a week, it was really good.

The Help, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me were also both amazing books.

I'm starting to read Lone Survivor, which is an eyewitness account of Operation Redwing and the lost heroes of Seal Team 10.

• I want to read the Hunger Games but I HATE first person stories, so I can't do it. Same with Twilight. This is seriously one-third of the reason I like Harry Potter, because it's written in third person.

Is The Help in third person? Loved the movie.

• Thanks for the suggestions! (And keep 'em coming if you haven't posted yet, maybe we could all use titles for our honeymoon trips?)

I have placed holds on several of these at my library. I just hate spending good money on books when I can get them for free and spend good money on other things. Like shoes and clothes. I just hope they don't all come in at once! A while back I figured out I could "beat the system" by browsing the library's web site and placing a hold even if the item was available, so then within a day it would be ready for me on the reserve shelf and I could just run in, scan everything at the self-serve kiosk, and run out. Bad Megan :-)

• In case anyone else needs suggestions, thought I'd return the favor, I love the "In Death" series by JD Robb (Nora Roberts), the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris (the "True Blood" TV show is based off the books but does diverge from them), and anything by Lisa Scottoline.

This. But, I have a tablet (with Nook/Kindle apps) and I can get a book for $5…. I just take my lunch a couple of days at work and it evens out. Haha. The e-books that my library have (that I want to read), have 60 some people “waiting”…That would be next year if they all took a week to read. I can’t wait THAT long! haha

• I have a Nook but don't use it much except for traveling. Generally the wait for e-books isn't too bad at my library but the selection is still being expanded.

• I generally read YA novels. I borrow them from a coworker.

I might as well just post my goodreads:

LOVE THOSE!!! I've got all of them. I wait for the paperbacks to come out before reading the next one since that's what all mine are. I pre-order on Amazon when they release the paperback dates :)
