Football Food

So FI and I are having some friends over tonight to watch LSU's victory and I want to make some fun, appetizer-y foods that don't require too much time and energy but are still a nice change from the typical melted velveeta.

Suggestions?

There's a special place in my heart for buffalo chicken dip. I make it for any gathering we have at the house!

I'm with Erin... I am convinced that I get invited to parties just because of my buffalo chicken dip. My secret is getting a hot rotisserie chicken (no canned chicken, blech), Marie's Blue Cheese dressing (in the cold produce section) and Frank's Buffalo Wing Sauce. Yum. I can only imagine how many WW points that is...

I'm not big on the Buffalo flavor.  Could it be made some other sauce, perhaps?

Cocktail wieners in the crockpot with bbq sauce and grape jelly (about equal amounts of both). Heat until warm... SERVE!

Taco dip. I made it yesterday for me, FI, & my friend & it's almost gone.

Some other ideas... cocktail weenies in BBQ, marinated cold veggies (like cucumber), meatballs, ham & cream cheese rolls (coworker makes these, she spreads cream cheese on a slice of ham, rolls it up and cuts it into bite size pieces with a toothpick through the middle).

Oh also you could buy those crescent roll things, place half a string cheese & some pepperoni inside & bake like normal. YUM!

My favorite is a Mexican layer dip. Basically all it is is the bottom layer cream cheese, middle layer chili, and top with shredded cheese to cover it and put it in the oven until the cheese is melted and hot all the way through. Then dip in with tortilla chips. It's super good.

    <div>That's what I was thinking, too.  Hmmm.</div><div>
</div><div>All the different dips sound amazing.  Maybe I'll just serve like 6 different kinds of dip?</div>

Does it have to be healthy? Because if it doesn't have to be healthy...

    http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/three-cheese-hot-artichoke-dip-recipe/index.html

I add spinach, and a 1/4 cup of milk to make it creamier (easier to dip chips in). I substitute low-fat everything when I want it a little healthier.

That and my chili dip are requested at every party. The chili dip is just one Philadelphia cream cheese block spread on the bottom of a baking dish, one can of Hormel chili spread on top, and two cups of mozzarella cheese on top of that. Bake until golden and bubbling and serve with tortilla chips.

    don't forget the chips! :)

Also, with all those dips?  Some brownies or cookies go nicely.  And Rice krispies treats went over AMAZINGLY well at our last super bowl party, lol

Buffalo Chicken dip or Skyline dip are our go to's.

Spinach and articoke dip or taco dip as well.

Pepperoni Rolls- While I know this is too late for tonight, I have to share as this is what I will be making for our next get together... (not my blog, I found it on pinterest).

    </div><div>
    </div><div>
</div><div>Ok, so I'm definitely planning to do the Spinach Artichoke dip and some version of Buffalo Chicken dip.  And I think I'll toast some pita wedges to serve with them in addition to chips.</div><div>
    </div><div>And I'm doing something dessert-ish, but I'm not sure what yet.</div><div>
</div><div>And I might get some Bagel Bites for good measure.  No party is complete without Bagel Bites.</div><div>

I LOVE me some buffalo wing dip! My coworker makes it every year for our holiday party and I finally got her 'recipe' this year. I made it for our barn party and it was a major hit. Decided I'm making it for SO and his buddies for Super Bowl Sunday this year.

I found this dip on Pinterest, and made it for New Years Eve. It was sooo good.

I love dips of any kind, but my go-to appetizer for that type of get together is pigs in a blanket. We made them with the turkey lil' smokies, and you can't even tell the difference.
