It was called out that a lot of the "lurkers" don't introduce themselves. So I am coming out to say Hi. :P
My name is Ashley, I am 24 years of age. I have a 16 month old son, and a boyfriend of almost a year (roughly 10 months, but I don't like counting). We met on Match.com; he has shown me I deserve to be loved, respected, and cared for. He loves my son as if he was his own. I don't think there is a more touching moment then seeing the love from both of them interacting. (Mushy Moment, Sorry!)
I am currently almost done completing my hours for Cosmetology school and will be hopefully (fingers crossed) licensed by Mid-May. My boyfriend is currently working full time at an airport parking/valet job, however, is training and studying to enter the Army come this fall. I know that I previously stated in the "get to know me" board that he was interested in the Air Force. He was using that as a second choice. Until I told him, I am behind him 100 % and know that he can get into the Army.
So if you want to ask me anything, just go ahead. But I have one question for all of you? Why does everyone always ask about your favorite potato?

I am thinking you're asking why is he studying to get into the Army?
Technically, he doesn't have to study if he just wants it to be a job. Not a lot of people study beforehand but end up with lower paying jobs. The higher you score on the ASVAB, the better job you can receive. He wants to enlist as a Warrant Officer Enlistment Option. They make up to 10k-15k more then entry level Army soldiers. But they have to score very high on their ASVAB.
Still here and still fabulous!
Actually it's JB's Ma Da... Because I was a single mom. So I was mommy and daddy for a while.
But not to say I don't drink, drink of choice Irish Car Bombs. Not really into Harry Potter.
More about me, I know a lot of random intelligent things and people at Cosmo school call me wikipedia. I don't try to be a know it all, most of it I picked up from Jeopardy over the years.... Also I love to cook and bake. I make alcoholic cupcakes. Their delish.
What do I want to be doing in 10 years?
-hmm, tough one. Still working as a hairstylist/make up artist. Taking my son to football practice. I am not one to really plan, as I see myself as an Army Wife, so I foresee a lot of moving in my future.
......
Well, my fave potato is the sweet potato. Don't drink much wine as my mother is an alcoholic, her drink of choice is wine.

Welcome! Glad to hear that your BF is looking ahead, instead of looking at the "just now". I'm not sure exactly, but I think an E-1 gets about $1,500 and a W-1 gets about $2,800 when first joining, so yeah, it is definitely I wise call on his part. Is he planning on making the Army his career? Just hope that he never ends up out at Fort Bliss; (the name is misleading!) a girlfriend of mine just moved out there with her DH and is hating it. Nothing to do out there. LOL.

Yes, he is planning Army as a career. And I have heard that Ft. Bliss is a mirage of a name. My brother and his wife were stationed there for two years. She almost went crazy. He keeps on thinking of three possibilities for army. WOC, Special Forces and Ranger; I think really he should just be looking into WOC school or Ranger. Mostly because as much as I know he is strong mentally and physically, I am not sure if I could handle him as Special Forces.
