This is from my intro on the "Introduce yourself here" thread.  I've been lurking for a little while and replying here and there.  I'm NEY though I've been with DTonk (I'm Atonk) for almost 7 years.  Feel free to interrogate me if you please :)

State of Relationship: Living together and soon to be engaged
How Long You've Been Together: Almost 7 years
When You're Getting Married (if you're engaged): Hopefully this Summer or Fall

Fur Babies: 2 cats - Zin and Pinot
Favorite Color: Pink
Favorite Thing About Your SO: That he doubles as a best friend and I can tell him anything.
Least Favorite Thing About Your SO: His farts ;)
Hobbies/Activities: Working on our house togeher, motorcycles, we're going skydiving soon!, riding quads
Describe Your Personality: Quiet at first, a "closet-daredevil",  I'm a peacekeeper and I avoid conflict if I can, I try to give everyone a chance,

Tell Us Something Interesting About Yourself: Sort of under hobbies/activities but I just bought a motorcycle and I'm going skydiving very soon for SO's birthday!

    You're the one with the awesome cat names!!! I've been meaning to find you and tell you that I love them, LOL

    What are your thoughts on potatos and mac & cheese? Where did you get your s/n from? It sounds almost as awesome as naming your cats Zin and Pinot.

    Welcome. This is gonna sound like a crap thing to ask and I promise I'm a nice person, but have you and your SO been together since you were 16 and he was well over that? I just noticed your age difference and while I'm not big on that, I saw 7 years together, noticed you were 24 and he was 32 and counted backwards.

    I am taking the safety class now and if all goes well I'll pass the test on Saturday and get my license!

    My s/n is our names.. he's DTonk (his name is Dan and Tonk is part of his last name) and I'm Amanda, so I'm ATonk.

    Mac and Cheese is the best! My favorite is Boston Market M&C but I love all (Kraft, Velveeta, and homemade).  I'm also a fan of potatoes! I love potatoes roasted in the oven with olive oil and herbs and spices.

    As a background for the cat names: DTonk makes wine (I know, yum!.. we have about 90 gallons in his mom's basement) and when we were trying to name our first cat he suggested "Zin" and since we couldn't think of anything better we went with that.  So naturally the next one had to be a wine kitty too :)

    That's alright, someone was bound to ask.  I was 17 when we met and he was 25.  He was friends with someone I went to high school with.  I've always dated guys that were older than me (just not that much older!).  It was weird at first because everyone seemed to have a problem with it.  Everyone eventually got over it.

    Age is nothing but a number in which to be judged by.

    Yeah. Hey, the best way to prove the haters wrong is to last forever in a happy relationship. No worries. I've always dated older, too. Much older when I was in my mid twenties. Now SO is a year and a half younger than I am. It works for us!

    I was in a wedding for some friends of mine who were the EXACT same ages that you and your SO were when you started dating. They've been married for 5 years this September and have two beautiful boys. I can see how it would be an issue when you were 17, just because of the legality issues involved, but like you said, age is just a number and congrats to you guys on your 7 years together!

    Welcome!  And I hear you, DK and I are 5 1/2 years apart starting when I was 19 and he was 25 and we got a ton of grief too.  Fast forward 4 years I'm 23 and he's almost 29 and people don't even seem to notice the difference anymore.

    Exactly! And when we got together people thought I was 22.  I didn't exactly act like a giddy immature 17 year old girl either so maturity-wise we were fine.  It's the number people got tripped up over.
