i'm brand new here, a bit overwhelmed by the new life i've fallen into.

i've met and fallen in love with the most amazing man in the world and we're planning to get married sometime in fall or winter.

i'm in the process of deciding on a ring and trying to decide where we want to get married.  i'm a low key kind of girl, usually pretty simple and kind of a hippie.  my SO is sort of the opposite - high roller, expensive taste and very refined.

so this will be an interesting ride.... i'm hoping to get some ideas and suggestions from this board, i've already lurked a bit and plan to do some more.

    hahaha, for everything!

    i'm in the process of figuring out what i want (in a ring, in a wedding location, etc) and so i'm sure i'll have lots of questions as i wade through it all.

    thanks goldie.

    i have tried on rings in person... it was interesting that what i liked in the showcase was not necessarily what i liked on my finger.  i just keep second guessing myself because it seems like such a crazy amount of money to spend on a single piece of jewelry!

    we've talked about the wedding and he said he's happy to have it anywhere.  of course every friend and family member has a suggestion.  hawaii, costa rica, las vegas, barbados....lol.  they just want it to be somewhere warm!  

    i want something very low key but i'm not sure if that's possible with family and friends and everyones expectations.  i kind of hope that by flying everyone to a destination wedding, they'll be distracted enough by the scenery that they won't notice the lack of effort in the actual wedding details!
