FI and I would definately take a few months  to explore Europe, and Japan.YES we would be world travlers.

Fi is really into Video games so we would have to go to Japan and take in the technology capital of the world. Then Europe because it is so close yet so far. There is so much to do there and to explore with just history of our 2 families let alone history PERIOD.

    CUBAAAA!!

No seriously.  We'd spend like a month there.  We'd resort it up in Varadero for a week.  Spend a couple days in Havana.  Travel across the country to Holguin for a week and then off to Cayo Coco for the rest of the trip.

Or across the ocean to visit family in Holand, then travel around for a month.  Ireland, Italy, Greece, etc

Disney!!! Surprise! lol But with all the extras. We'd stay in the Contemporary in the tower with a view of the Magic Kingdom and get the platinum magic your way plan so we'd get all the fun extra tours. I'd say we'd go for two weeks so that we could explore things more and have time to relax (maybe swing by Harry Potter too). I would definitely want to do all the tours, the morning safari and the segway tour through Epcot. *daydreaming out of control*

That or go to Germany and travel the whole romantic road starting in Würzburg. :)

At this point, anywhere is fine with me.  I desperately need a vaca.

I think if money (and time) were no factor, we'd both like to go to Australia. We could take a few weeks to go to different parts of the country.

We kind of started looking at Mexico as a potential HM destination. I've never been, and FI has never been to the vacation-y parts. The Yucatan would be nice, but the Pacific side is cheaper and closer for us.

I'd also like to go to Cuba. Maybe one of these days people in the US will be allowed to go easily.

All of Europe. Hawaii. Caribbean. Ireland. Iceland. Australia.

If I had to pick somewhere right now. I would pick Bora Bora and stay at the resort where they filmed Couples Retreat. 2 weeks sounds like a good amount of time. 1 week for 2 people if I remember correctly was in the ballpark of around $10,000. Crazy!

We'd quit our jobs and live as nomads! Though I know people who have done this, regardless of money... and I am incredibly envious.

If I'm really in fantasy land, then money and safety would not be factors and I would travel through Western and Central Asia.

We would move to Australia! It would be nice to travel around Europe as well, England, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Greece, Italy...we aren't really into tropical places.

FI really wants to go on a cruise, after my bad experience with a cruise in high school, I'm not as thrilled about it, but I'm willing to consider it - we've talked that a cruise to Alaska would be nice - if money were no object, do the cruise with all the bells and whistles.

We'd also like to visit Ireland and Scotland someday.

BF's grandparents actually spend half the year in Fiji as missionaries. And he's never gone with them! I can't believe that.

If money wasn't an option, I would love to go everywhere. But I think the one place I might actually never afford to/get around to going to is Egypt so I'll say I'd go there. I'd also really love to go to Israel some day.

Oh, and why? Because it's my heritage. My family comes from various places in Europe (Scotland, England, and Germany primarily), but I feel the closest connection to Scotland, and I've never been so I really want to go, and BF has been intrigued as well through spending time with my family and hearing some of the stories.

We talk about how if we won the lottery, we'd do the cash out option (where you're taxed the most heavily) and invest half in a mutual fund, and use the other half to travel for a year.  We'd go everywhere - among the trips we've seriously discussed taking at some point:

    *Africa - Kenya & Tanzania & Rwanda
*Middle East - Morocco & Egypt & Saudi Arabia & Qatar
    * Europe - Everywhere (especially Greece, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Hungary, France, Ireland, & UK)
*Russia & the former Soviet Bloc
*Asia - Nepal, India, China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia,  Singapore
    *Latin America - basically everywhere

We would go to Ireland, because that's where I want to go.(family heritage and just because) We would also go to Germany, because that's where he wants to go...(music and family heritage). Then we would probably go all over...he really loves beautiful landscape so places where there is a lot of vacant, beautiful land, some places with mountains, etc.

Ireland and Germany..for about a month or two. (However long we could stay...)

He wants to move to a place with beautiful scenery...he's thinking Montana. So that wouldn't be a vacation that would be a permanent relocation.

Cate, your post about Rwanda reminded me of something: a french course at my school this year is new and being offered second semester. It's a study on the country and culture of Rwanda, and includes a 4 week community service program in Rwanda. I have wanted to go there for a few years now, and it sounded amazing, but I can't fit it into my schedule this year :/ so fingers crossed for next year...

Japan all the way. Was there a few years ago, and can't wait to go back. If you want to really experience something special, time spent at a traditional inn called a Ryokan will make for a very romantic experience.
