I have a Mirena question. I was checking the strings just to see where they are and to do the check that they say to do. I only feel one string though. There are supposed to be 2 right? Is it possible to lose one in the cervix or do they usually stick together? Maybe the other one just is hiding, but I was just wondering if you've ever had that happen.

Anyone can answer, I just remembered those two having had IUDs.

False alarm. I did some more searching and I found it hidden away, lol. But my question is still out there if someone wants to answer it: Can the strings somehow get pulled back into the cervix?

Glad you were able to find it! I never had that happen to me. I'm sure they can get lost up there, hence the reason they tell you to check, but it's never happened to me.

It can happen. That's why they tell you to check your strings. It's never happened to me either. If it did happen they would either remove it or if it looks ok as is leave it in. I don't how comfortable I would be with them just leaving it in without the strings though! I think it's more common for the strings to be missing because your body expelled it though, especially if it's new.
