Drum roll please....

I'm engaged!  

We went to the German Christmas market last night and he took me to the huge Christmas tree and gave me a gift bag - inside was a stuffed "engagement" turtle (we had joked about this a few months ago). He said he wanted to get a "bedazzling" kit for it, but couldn't find one and hoped that "this" would make up for it. . . then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!! Eeeep! I'm still in shock. 

Here are some pics to prove it happened :)

it is a sapphire surrounded by diamonds set in 18k white gold

I'm so stinkin' happy!  Thanks for keeping me sane over the last few months, ladies :) I'm really looking forward to stealing your ideas for planning and hanging out with you as an engaged woman!

    I had no idea! I totally thought that he would do it next week on our big Colorado trip! He was acting weird and carrying around the big bag with the turtle in it, so once we were at the market I had my suspicions, but didn't really *know* until I pulled out the turtle. :) He did a good job surprising me!

    That's super cute - a grown man lugging around a stuffed turtle!  Aww, that's love!

    And your ring is stunning.  Absolutely stunning!  You'll definitely get this a lot, but it reminds me of Princess Diana's ring that Kate Middleton is now wearing.  You're in good company!
